It’s a completely different era for album weeks charting with streaming.

Sour snatched that record during an era of albums flopping. Whitney and Mariah snatched that record during an era of high album sales and high competition. One of these things is not like the other

that's a great achievement, however it's not comparable to when mariah and whitney did it. They achieved it by having people buy their records week after week, after you bought it, that was it, her album is being streamed over and over holding it up

Technically it doesn't matter. Everyone was in the same playing field during Mariah's and Whitney's runs and everyone is playing by the same rules during Olivia's run. Your complain would only be valid if everyone's album was staying in the Top 10 by streaming only during Mariah's run while Mariah's album somehow stayed in the Top 10 from sales only making her achievement so much more impressive.

it is obviously way more complicated, due to the fact, that pre streaming, albums tracks were not allowed to chart, and singles sales didn't contribute to the albums sales totals. Nobody cared for how much I listened to an album after my ONE (1!) purchase.

Also there was a catalogue rule.

Yes, all true, but my point is that everyone had to chart based on the exact same rules back then. It's like saying Martina Navratilova isn't a great tennis player because literally anyone in Top 100 today would beat her 6-0 6-0.

And if anything, I'd say albums generally have much shorter longevity today. It's not uncommon for them to last just a few weeks on BB200 if they are not that popular. It's just the most popular ones found a way for better longevity.
