mystery Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 This is an insane hold for the second week, especially for a Memorial Day release. The box office run for this movie will be really interesting to follow.
Arcadius Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Well damn. Hollywood is really about to start catering more to middle America now.

ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted June 4, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted June 4, 2022 A 33% drop is borderline unfathomable especially for a blockbuster these days which typically fall well into the 40th percentile if they are lucky
UnusualBoy Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Nice drop, sadly it was released way too close to JW which will affect some of its gross but it's still doing amazing regardless.

And it will likely be an even smaller drop. Actuals are expected closer to 90M. Absolutely insane, I really want to see it just haven’t had the chance to yet

I think JW will be hurt by being too close to Top Gun. Is it really? It's basically the last one from this trilogy, that alone may give it a push.

JW3 opened in South Korea first and with big numbers, but it dropped very quickly due to low ratings, so it may have a front loaded gross. Plus, the two films have different demographics, so shouldn’t affect each other too much.

BNF91 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 JW3 is tracking for $50M+ this weekend in just 15 overseas markets. It's right on par with the last 2 which did $47M and $59M before the bigger worldwide opening next weekend. While it may be underperforming in some Asian markets, it is compensating by overperforming in Latin America.
McNulty Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Not shocking consider the good word of mouth, nostalgia and the free tickets

slik Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 It will surpass both The Batman and Doctor Strange at the box-office in a week or so... I wonder if Thor, Avatar 2 or Lightyear can top it?
