TheLastChord Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I liked it. It's a big generic in the middle, but overall it's a good watch. Uma did the thing.

Dekkan Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Number 1 on Amazon in 92 countries on its 4th day, the most since the release. 5
OhMyAlf Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Yeah the pacing ruined this for me, I couldn't get into it at all or care in the slightest about the characters as it felt like we jumped through so many moments without a second to breath Shame as its one of my favourite books but I low key hated this
JungleJuice Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 (edited) This was so corny. I felt nothing watching it. This is embarrassing for Uma thermon. She's still stunning and should be getting quality work Edited August 15, 2023 by JungleJuice 1

chiliam Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Such a cute gay movie. Its giving Disney Channel original at times but who cares, i did love some of those Disney Channel movies. The two leads are so insanly hot and actually have chemistry and charisma. But anyone think the President mother acting is so bad like outrageous bad. The whole movie i was like she looked just like Uma Thurman but i cannot believe its actually Ms Uma Thurman when the credit rolling, hows on earth the acting is that noticeably bad with a major actress like that.
chiliam Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Me and my bf is laughing hard at the end when they talk about a big crowd cheering for them outside the palace. And then We never see that crowd, like Amazone being a cheap ass ***** is so funny. 4

dabunique Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 i'm almost done with da book, this should've been a series so much left out
BOOMBAYAH Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Just finished chapter 10 of the book…I almost crying like woah can’t wait to finish tomorrow
Gui Blackout Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Not me just now finding out that the author of the book is an obsessive Taylor Swift hater what a loser Karma.m4p did ha thing tho cause now every edit of the movie is using a Taylor song I hope they're fuming
Subversive Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Haven’t read the book or knew much going in…it truly is giving Wattpad realness and an absolutely ludicrous fantasy of a scenario but…I loved it. Fun and a cute love story. Wish the pacing of their romance / fallout was better developed but oh well

And the book. And she's making money from it. I wish she never said those things about Taylor though. I hope Swifties can enjoy the film regardless.
Kummercell Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) I kinda hated most of the book so I liked that there's a lot missing from it tbh Edited August 16, 2023 by Kummercell 1

OT: this movie was cute except the obvious pacing issue. And I don't get why Amazon didn't put more money, it looks so low budget like it was very obvious this movie would be a hit why couldn't they give 1/1000 of LOTR tv series budget to this movie Edited August 16, 2023 by enchanted0

Yeah, she was definitely a miscast for this movie. That accent she did was so awful and not convincing in the least. 1
Harrier Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Uma Thurman nearly single handedly brought down this movie with her accent, but other than that it was cute and watchable. The leads are very attractive
bjorn Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Uma should stick to samurai swords I fear no more rom-coms for you missy 1
D/X Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 It's true that Amazon was so greedy with the budget, like the entirety of it was giving Lifetime realness. The fake ass snow in the NYE scene bothered me so much and the Eiffel tower in that Paris hotel room scene was ridiculous. They could've avoided plenty of those issues without having to show where they were lmao. Anyways, this was very cute, but most surprisingly funny and with a heart. I was not expecting the latter, particularly coming from a Wattpad book. It ticks the two essential boxes for a romcom. Uma was so unserious but I loved her and her comedy timing was good. Zahra had easily the best lines. And of course, both Taylor and Nicholas were really good at it (not expecting them to serve Oscar performances as the Letterboxd weirdos have been bitching about) and had tons of chemistry which was essential, perfectly cast tbh. 1
