It was cute. It suffers from writing and casting issues but it's not like it's meant to be an arthouse film.

Wait, which one isn't?

Omg they were both hot but the story just wasn't clicking for me :jonny6: There are some cringe scenes, they needed more time to build up the romance because it just wasn't believable with all those montage scenes at the start :deadbanana4:

This was so cute - I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book. Nicholas and Taylor have great chemistry, they had me blushing so hard at some points ugh:jonny:

If the author wasn't such an OTH this could've been a cute end-credits song :flower:

Galitzine is straight (said as much on a podcast), Zakhar Perez is gay or bi (he’s been dating the same guy for a really long time, his name is Garrett Gerson).

It was cute but there was absolutely no chemistry between the two leads like be for real. The was no build up, no passion, their love was not believable for a second. It should've indeed been a limited series. To me the only good part was Galitzine as Henry, he was perfect. Uma deserves worst supporting actress Razzie :ahh:

This should have been a series

In the book the first kiss felt like it took forever to get to that point but in the film it came a bit suddenly

Watched this yesterday and it was cute and breezy. There were definitely some moments that took me out, but I enjoyed it for what it was :jamming: Here for a Uma renaissance tbh, I need her in more things

Ntm on Alex. It's not his fault that some of y'all can't identify with a hot, silly king who loves life.

I'm sorry but this was so bad. Outside of the sex scenes they had absolutely no chemistry and most of the acting was comical. Plus they got together way too quick and it made no sense how they were crying over each other despite having zero emotional buildup :skull:

Decided to watch it on a whim and it's actually higher budget + less cringy than I thought. It's refreshing to see adult elements in a queer movie that doesn't end tragically.

I agree with the comments saying that we don't get enough buildup for their romance to seem believable, the pacing + cutting definitely could have been better.

With that said, the 2 actors are real eye candy and really look the part. Taylor kinda the stole the scene whenever he (rightfully) get to show off that body ody so props to the directors for giving the gays something to fantasize.mp3 about. I wouldn't mind a sequel either

Someone ( I think the director?) said that this was a 3 hour film but the people at Amazon Prime made them cut it to 2 hours. That explains something. Now I see fans demanding the director's cut to be released.

And it's all acting anyway, so the talk about chemistry is (somewhat) subjective. We kinda project what we wanna see to the people on the screen. But at least the love making scene in the middle of the film was lovely, I thought. And I think the movie ending felt like maybe there could be more to this story. Or at least I see many fans wanting a sequel film.

the director actually teased the possibility of a sequel "if it's successful" and so far it seem to be
