This could be me

I was about to say, nothing has changed in the different gens opinions considering I was the same way in my late teens / early 20’s. I didn’t start getting into pre 90’s music until a few years ago. :rip:

This can't be right. ATRL told me that Madonna is a well-known legend. :psyduck:

She is literally in the top 5.

First they love you, then they switch

Is this because of Miss Gateu or whatever?

- Over a third of the Gen Z said they wouldn’t listen to a song if it was released before they were born.

- When asked if people find older songs and artists boring, Gen Z was the generation that agreed that they did the most at 34%.

I'm really trying not to be judgmental, and I understand why they find the songs from their generation to be more appealing and relatable as they reflect their experience better, but this is so weird to me.

I guess they'll grow out of this eventually, I think they are just being edgy. There so much good music from the older generations that anyone can appreciate.

On the other hand, many old people are super prejudiced against new artists as well, so it goes both ways. :rip: It's just kinda sad to me that people are so close-minded when it comes to music, there is something to appreciate in every genre and generation.

This is so particular though to only 60m people who  are 74+ though. Globally across all demographics, this list would be very different.

Not Beyoncé being that high :fan:

Y'all should stop with Beyoncé is local and not having huge peak only for a handful of your "global" favs missing from that list. Also, isn't there's another survey where Beyoncé is most loved woman in the UK iirc?

Most Gen Z probably only know Madonna by name from that one Glee episode. But not necessarily know how she looks :bird:

Literally how could Gen Z not know MADONNA of all artists :rip:

Young people are so annoyingly edgy about disdaining Madonna. As soon as she dies, she'll have a Michael Jackson level of resurgence and her legacy will be cemented once and for all. It's not fair, but it's what will happen.

if that's the case then what's the reason behind the GP making ha the best-selling female artist of all time aka THE queen of Pop?

The newer generations are always edgy about rejecting the icons of their parents and having their own. The problem is when the older icons are Madonna and the new ones are... Olivia Rodrigo :doc:
