I'm really trying not to be judgmental, and I understand why they find the songs from their generation to be more appealing and relatable as they reflect their experience better, but this is so weird to me.

 

I guess they'll grow out of this eventually, I think they are just being edgy. There so much good music from the older generations that anyone can appreciate.

 

On the other hand, many old people are super prejudiced against new artists as well, so it goes both ways.  It's just kinda sad to me that people are so close-minded when it comes to music, there is something to appreciate in every genre and generation.

This is so particular though to only 60m people who  are 74+ though. Globally across all demographics, this list would be very different.

The newer generations are always edgy about rejecting the icons of their parents and having their own. The problem is when the older icons are Madonna and the new ones are... Olivia Rodrigo
