Aribiotch Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Despite major blockbuster releases and the increase in streaming consumption, 3 years later, TUN is STILL the standard despite ATRL constantly undermining its power. This record is just as impressive , if not more than single day debut numbers, because it shows people are coming back constantly to the album and not just the initial release day hype. Who do you think will be able to break the record ??
fauxtography Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Ariana is and will always be the streaming queen.
Blue Monday Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Even more impressive when you consider it only had 3 singles (1 of which was not really promoted at all) and 12 tracks
ariananext Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 It's crazy how those 20-30 tracks albums couldn't beat a 12 tracks album her discography numbers are unmatched so far
ariananext Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Anyways, considering artists are churning out long albums more and more to accumulate bigger streaming numbers, I can see any big act surpassing it in the future. One day 2019 numbers will be nothing, it's in fact absurd that in over 3 years nobody was able to do more considering the growth of Spotify.
chiliam Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Welll im a Swifties but this recoerd is very impressive. Congrate Ariana, ***** better make a comeback soon
Blade Runner Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Olivia being second (and with 7M less) is even more impressive, to be honest. No shade to Ari.
byzantium Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 It’s impressive! TUN definitely was a career peak at the moment. That said, we have not really had a release by a pop artist at a peak since. I’m excited to see what Olivia does next. Taylor obviously might be there with TS10. We shall see.
raven Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 this is all the more wild considering how streaming has already grown exponentially in the couple years since tun came out, yet it remains untouched obviously someone will eventually break it as streaming continues to grow and big names release but this will always be an impressive feat for her
Billionaire Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 The way she has 2 albums in the top 5 I feel like she could break her own record with the right rollout. Either her or Taylor.
krustysalt Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Olivia could've broken it if she had 1 more song Anyway longevity matters. You could really see albums that were frontloaded. Either Ari herself, Taylor or Olivia could break it.
onewillowsilk Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 I'll be really surprised if Taylor doesn't break this record with her next album.
favorite crime Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 pls the conveniently not classifying taylor as pop so positions can make a cameo on the list Red TV: 303.23mil folklore: 289.85mil evermore: 220.49mil

BuzzCharts Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Very impressive considering only 12 tracks. TS10 and OR2 will be the next contenders to dethrone it
TayRianaPH Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 honestly, this makes the "positions" album a huge underperformance. only a little over half of TUN...

None of those are pop albums. Ariana #1 where she belongs
Sinister Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 What a massive moment that was from this whole site laughing at the performance of Sweetner to her releasing TUN with only 5 tracking days for a mixtape and it becoming her first #1 single. The music video breaking the biggest single day record. They said it would drop and it spent over a month at #1. Then 7R did even better. and then she dropped the album to finish the era. Still mad about that

But.. the most stable album she's ever had so far. It's gonna catch up with Sweetener's numbers and Sweetener got extensive promotion (for her standards) for the first two singles and the album.
