You would either need 10 republicans in the senate or for Joe Manchin and Kritsten Cinema to get rid of the 60 vote requirement.

And even if that were possible, which we know isn't, Conservatives could still take the bill to court because it infringes upon the 2A, which we know they would.

Hence the literal case I brought up earlier in this thread against NY state that SCOTUS is going to rule on in just weeks which will likely strike down all blue states laws against concealed carry across state lines.

So pretty much immediately after this, the problem is in fact not going to get better but exponentially worse.

This is just so horrifying. I really have no words at this point. I hate how we "normalized" reading about shooting headlines in America

The sad thing is knowing they’ll be right there on Friday and preaching to the choir that “the BIG SPOOKY LEFT is trying to take away YOUR GUNS” knowing that absolutely nothing will change regardless of their fear mongering, while horrific acts like this will continue to occur, but no, the real terror is “da radical left coming for your 2nd amendment rights”. God it’s infuriating dealing with this daily. I’m so angry

Was the shooter a Tr*mper or just psycho?

I'm just saw tweets on internet of the people who lost their little cousins, little sisters or their aunt in this indicent, it really breaks my heart, may those innocent souls and their brave teachers rest in peace and hope to God that their relatives find some day the peace to overcome this. This is sad, really sad.

Whoever uploaded this to tiktok is honestly disgusting. Let those families mourn in peace, instead of filming them and uploading it for some attention. Smh

I will never get how the right to carry a gun appears to be a character trait to some of these americans. It's disturbing that due to them, these poor kids and their families have to suffer

One of the deadliest school shootings in our history and, as expected, the Democrats’ solution is to do nothing while they control both houses of Congress and the White House.

Before anyone tries it with, “Omg but because of Manchin and Sinema..!!” The Democrats have utterly refused to criticize or challenge either of them. Manchin’s wife has a cabinet job in Biden’s White House; he’s refused to call him out by name; and he’s commended Sinema as being “smart as a devil” while she was actively blocking what was supposed to be his landmark social spending bill with Build Back Better. Democrats also spend more time and energy shutting down and attacking progressives in the party and won’t bother criticizing Manchinema. So, no, the entire party is the problem. Manchin and Sinema are just the scapegoats that they cannot even bother to criticize. Look at how Republicans destroyed the political career of Madison Cawthorn for saying something about them they didn’t like. The Republicans leaked illicit videos of him doing “gay” things (that were admittedly very weird and cringe) to get their homophobic base to vote him out and it worked. Dems don’t bother even trying peer pressure.

No, they actively support Democrats that are against progress.  Just look at how vile it was for Nancy Pelosi to be telephoning support for anti-choice Henry Cuellar, even after the leaked supreme court ruling on Roe v Wade.

The Democratic party, as it exists currently, is only around to make money off of these issues but will actively prevent those issues from getting fixed just so they can use it in the future to help fundraising efforts.

The thing about the supreme court is if they make a ruling, it can become precedent, and then we might be in a worse situation.

At this point after what we’re seeing w roe v wade, it’s like…who cares. Republican appointed judges are gonna do what they’re gonna do anyways. So Dems should do the same and push our agenda by any means necessary.

God I hate this country so much. It’s just makes you feel so f**king powerless. And we know how to stop it. “No way to prevent this” says only country where this happens regularly. This culture war here just isn’t sustainable.

That country is a goddamned joke ☠️

I'm somewhat desensitized at this point. No point in crying, personally, when the government is actively going against every possible anti-gun law available.

When is something actually going to be done?

Um- did yall just see Beto go off at Abbott :rip:
