“She was never cancelled” “Things that never happened”

#TaylorSwiftIsOverParty suddenly didn’t happen?

y’all dumb asf :ahh: we get it, you hate her but why lie

Cancelled means push out, silenced and erased from the zeitgeist.

Radios didn’t stop playing her music, she wasn’t uninvited or rejected from Hollywood events and her income wasn’t at all impacted (given her massively successful album and tour A YEAR LATER).

So no, she wasn’t cancelled. People made jokes and dragged her on twitter for always playing the victim and she CHOOSE to go into hiding—to ironically craft her next victim narrative.

Gurl just because you lived under a rock in 2016-2017 and didnt care about pop culture at that time doesnt mean that Taylor hate train didnt happen.

Such a dumb comment. If you already said you know nothing about that period so why dont just sit back in the corner and shut up.

The point is that when major names are canceled you end up knowing about it even if you're not actively in stan twitter because it end up transcending that, like say what happened to Ellen, everyone knows that, or what happened to Janet etc. The fact that some Kanye and Katy stans trended a # doesn't mean Taylor was dealing g with a hate train or being canceled.

She was never cancelled or "near lost her career". Her sales were never affected, she didn't lose any fans and she only faced backlash by people who never liked her in first place. I guess this only hurt her more than it should.

Basically this. The ones that were doing the #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty were her haters, her career remained intact cause it wasn't like she did some kind of unforgivable thing. If Chris Brown managed to still have a career after what he did to Rihanna, it's obvious nothing was going to happen to Taylor. :rip:

That's never ended someone's career.

but some users in here are acting like nothing happened

To be fair the Internet did try to cancel her. :michael:

I’m not even her fan but some of your comments are quite insensitive. I remember that hate train vividly and I don’t think it was something smooth to go through. At its peak, Taylor was literally made the joke and it was “cool” to hate on her. She literally had to disappear for the entirety of a year :deadbanana: With the Reputation era, I felt the hate just got worse.

Now I feel the general opinion has shifted about her since she won Artist of the Decade (from what I’ve observed interestingly) but the time when she was one of the most hated-upon celebrities was a genuinely bad one.

Out of topic: What degree is she graduating with?

Even after being proven right about Kim. Taylor continues being an insufferable privileged white woman.

Coming from 3 generations of bank CEOs really does a number on your relatability, poor her!

That would be accurate. Taylor would have to murder someone to get cancelled though

So true sis.  If you listen to Love Story (Taylor’s Version) backwards, it says “kill all puppies”.  It is also fact that Putin got the idea to invade Ukraine from listening to Begin Again (Taylor’s Version).  Evil did not exist before 1989. Anyone saying otherwise is a swifty trying to spread lies.

You get it :clap3:

Right? I even remember that article that was lashing out on her birthday post saying it was insensitive for her to have a happy year when everyone was miserable through it (I can’t remember if it was 2016 or 2017).

This. Atrl is (conveniently) forgetting that for the better part of a year, people were suddenly agreeing with everything the Kardashians of all people were saying just to spite Taylor, when we now all know how that situation actually went down.

OT: she was given an honorary doctorate in fine arts. Of course she doesn’t actually have a degree in anything, but as a celeb it’s a nice acknowledgment and memento to have. :clap3:

I don't think people really remember how intense the hate was against her but it was bad... the fact that she was able to claw her way back from that, you have to respect it TBH. Not everyone can.

This. I was there for it. I remember how much vitriol her name had attached to it online. The fact she crawled her way out of the trenches and restored her former glory doesn’t erase everything she went through.

She was never at risk of losing her career and she knows damn well. She loves being melodramatic

Such a white woman statement :dies: sis was fine she was never losing her career she is too big to lose anything. The dramatics

 :bibliahh:

I just feel like the people trying to downplay the bullying and harassment she got were the ones who did the most in 2016 anyways…

She was making a JOKE, you guys can unclench :rip:

19 pages for this...... people are dying :rip: lol i would be a raging victim and narcissist too if everyone had something negative to say everytime i did anything

They love to pretend that 2016-2017 never happened because she proved everyone wrong, switched the narrative and she's on top right now going through yet ANOTHER imperial phase. Absolute clowns. :skull:

OTH resorts to historical revisionism to justify their hate against Taylor. She was cancelled and that's a fact. Miss Americana is literally a product of that phase in her life.

She’s insufferable.

she is. literally every female artist has gone through this one point in their career, and even the ones who were done worse (like Janet) handled it better and didn't constantly victimise themselves.

Not atrl acting like there was no cancellation when back in 2017 the same ones were saying she was cancelled, flop, snake, liar, panned, Taylor’s best album REPUTATION biggest flop ever, etc :rip:

Glad she made it out, she’s a figther <3

K bye for now, Sunshine. <3
