Lost In Paradise Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 not a single clip from either trailer has made me even slightly chuckle. I think they made this more for straight women who thought a film about white gays directed and produced by straight white men was a good idea in 2022?
Mellark Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I am going to watch it because I want to support my fellow gays because if this is going to give us the foot-in-the-door for more queer romcoms (with people of color especially) and don't emphasize on trauma to be released, then I'll take it. I think I'll make a reservation for next weekend.
ALittleGauche Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 This was one of the biggest crowd-pleasers at TIFF. Relentless belly-laughter from the audience. Check your internal homophobia, people.

Martyr Of Fame Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 I got sent an invite to a press screening and almost nobody is RSPVing even though it’s a free. This is going to be an embarrassing flop.
Dark Phoenix Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 It’s still one month away from release date here in Mexico but I’ve yet to see or hear from this movie in any media or even a trailer outside of Film Twitter, Reddit or here.

Almodusa Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 dd I thought it was already out like a week or two ago for some reason
Elusive Chanteuse Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Billy's humor is not mine but I will support if I can. Its nice to see gay movies that are not softcore porn or ending in tragedy.

Europe Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 My homophobic country is not showing this I wanted to drag my friends to watch it with me.
ALA Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 Movie looks to open not very good the movie was good!

It’s basically on life support. That with being a gay focused one, it was gonna be a struggle no matter what. Also homophobia is still alive and well. Was reading someone say “I have no problems with gay people, but I don’t want to see two dudes doing raunchy jokes together for hours” and a lot of people agreeing with that. It’s a shame. I mean I don't necessarily think that's homophobia. that one trailer clip of the four-way (with the cut to two guys sucking off the other) probably turned a lot of straight people off, just like some dude explicitly eating ****** would turn a lot of gay people off a similar film. gays (and girls that watch drag race) aren't anywhere near the majority of people in this country. why would we expect a big opening for this film?
KeirGrey Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 shame this is bombing :( i think they needed a famous gay in it to really get it attention, John Bayley for exampe
Raver Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I saw it last night and I kid you not only 4 people were in that theater watching the movie. Me, my sister, and two other girls & dassit Its a fun movie. A couple of the scenes are over the top & could turn off some str8’s but it does have a lot of funny scenes and it’s cute moments. The most criticism I’ve seen are from gays which sucks but ehhh
blackoutbritney Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Loved this! Was laughing the entire time
Hector Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Loved, loved, loved this movie! Funniest movie of the year, I genuinely haven't laughed that much at a movie in ages! Deserves any Screenplay nominations it gets this year potentially. So happy they nailed the landing of the ending. And the amount of funny one liners makes this movie's replay value very high for me. A very accessible comedy movie with heart and emotion. Very relatable satire and meta moments in here too.

Here in Mexico it comes out in a month so still a long way to see it but domestically it feels like it will get around $4M - $6M, they should have waited for Thanksgiving-Xmas season or Valentine’s, late September right next to Halloween season feels like bad timing.
midnightdawn Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 They needed an A list actress to be in it and go on all the talk shows to promote it and get women to go and see it.

Agreed! I've seen 0 marketing here in the Netherlands. They for sure should have done Valentines day, now you say it the timing is horrible.

And I think there's always this infighting in our community about how gay people should be represented for the GP. but people need to get over it. not everything's so serious.
