The trailer makes it seem like the movie is very self-aware, to the point where I anticipate your point being a deliberate choice to highlight a plot element or be some sort of critique on gay culture. Or perhaps I'm giving them too much credit.

I feel like it’s the typical b-tier rom-com with Rebel Wilson or Dakota or any B-list with a few cute jokes and another dated ones that it’s more catered to 30-45yo gays than 18-29.

 

Will watch it to support getting more lgbt films but at the same time I hope they’re good.

I think you’re right. This doesn’t really appeal much to zoomers, but for the older millennial folks like me, this looks more intriguing.

Saw an early screening tonight and it was actually really good. Maybe a little too white considering the leads but overall really good for a romcom with a gay twist. I'll probably pay for a ticket when it's officially released and watch it again to support the gays since today's showing was free
