Are they saying that the health department is turning black men away? Someone needs to get fired

You know how back in the day with small pox-milk maids didn't get small pox because they had the milder version 'cow pox' from milking cows?

Is that the same thing-like you are getting a milder version of monkey pox so you don't get full blown monkey pox?

Too bad.

My country already had 1 case

From the lack of evolution I think it's just a mosquito mark. But I was in contact with a positive case for a week so it wouldn't be from the vaccine if it was the case

So this isn't the big thing we thought it would be... getting my second dose next week.

You're in Canada and not the States. Get back to me in late November this year and late February next year.

If the numbers haven't exponentially climbed in the States, then we're out of the woods in terms of pandemic status.

The problem is, even then, monkeypox is now probably endemic among MSM in the U.S. because the CDC waited too long to take action, meaning there won't be the "life-long" protection promised by the two doses of Jynneos as it's effectiveness will break down more quickly as a result of wider spread within the community every year that re-surges with events like Pride. Even though the majority of transmission is sex between MSM, the rate of spread within the community means this likely will never "go away".

Not if they vaccinate everyone

But based on the stats by ethnicity my guess is now a larger proportion of cases are closeted down low men, who are mostly from black and hispanic backgrounds because those groups tend to be more conservative and homophobic. Probably southern whites are also overrepresented for the same reason. Lots of DL pastor types in Alabama and Wyoming.

But the good news is that they don't go to pride. That set of gays should be quite highly vaccinated by next year that hopefully the virus won't have a chance to really gain a foothold.

Got my first dose of the jynneos vaccine yesterday. Second dose due in 4 week. Interestingly, it goes in the forearm.

Spread in British Columbia seems to have slowed down considerably, only 119 cases reported in total so far. I think there have only been 40 new cases in all of August so far IIRC. The vaccination was very accessible here so that's probably helping. Most gay men I know were vaccinated very quickly in late June/early July.

Good thing I didn't vote for him. But with Andre Gillum getting arrested for the meth sex thing was he really going to be a better choice? (probably yes)

And now we have to ******* vote for Charlie christ our failed republican governor

from 10 years ago now running as a democratic because this state can't come up with a competent democratic nominee.

I hate it here :rip:
