- Most if not all gases in Spain are come from men who have sex other men and a cluster of those has already been tied with chemsex party/IES

- Lots of cases seem to be appearing in other countries but a lot of them (Australia, Belgium, US, Sweden) have reported they are from people who travelled to Spain or Montreal

so @Protocol was right :deadbanana2:

Nigeria reports about 3,000 monkeypox cases a year, WHO said. Outbreaks are usually in rural areas, where people have close contact with infected rats and squirrels, Tomori said. He said many cases are likely missed.

Even if this thing is not as contagious as COVID, it's so weird how it's now in almost 10 countries especially if most of the cases were found in gay men. Let's hope they contain it because next month is pride month and that's the perfect key for it to spread like a wildfire, at least in gay men.

Seems like The Netherlands has learned from Covid. They're already discussing a mandatory three-week quarantine for close contacts of anyone with monkeypox in The Netherlands

This needs to be done everywhere if we want to contain it.

There being 17 confirmed cases in my city as of yesterday... and the majority of them being gay men... which I am... :chick3:

Is it still spreading among gays only?

Because I’m travelling to Spain next week :rip: I need to know.mp3 how it’s transmitted because if it’s as contagious as smallpox then :rip:

They need to cancel worldwide pride parades and parties, shut down bathhouses and gay bars worldwide, and shut down Grindr/Scruff worldwide by government order, NOW, for a few weeks/months, until this thing is eradicated from western countries.

It sounds harsh but if they don’t do that this will continue to spread. It’s the worst timing ever right before June.

that's not gonna happen. but even just guys using condoms would help a lot in this case.

I know it’s not going to happen, but it should, and it would work.

I asked my mom if I'm vaxxed and she doesn't remember :deadbanana4: the **** am I supposed to do now

Depending on where you live, you can check your immunisation history from your country's immunisation register. Not just for smallpox, but for any shots you may have received. You can also speak to your doctor who can have those records as well.

Argentina

Australia

Canada

Denmark (date dependant)

Ireland

Italy

United Kingdom

Unfortunately the U.S. does not have such a system nationwide. This page details how you can receive your vaccine records. Depending on your state, your state may have a registry.

Other countries where you will have to check for a book or with your GP (from what I can see) include FinlandFranceGermany, New Zealand and Spain.

Stay safe European gays, you just know the homophobes will try to use this against us. Use protection and try to get to know people before shagging :eddie:

This would be an EXTREMELY homophobic action and will rightfully never in a million years happen.

Doing this assumes that all gays using apps or attending pride/gay bars are out here having unprotected sex, it generalises us and will create even more of a stigma.

A ridiculous idea.

I thought the mode of transmission was just being in close contact? They need to stop gays from hooking up until they eradicate this. So you need to take out all the places where gays can meet each other. It would lead to backlash yes but worse would be to get monkeypox and have scars all over your body.
