The primary point of transmisison being SEX. Is it a std..no...BUT it is right now being spread primarily by sex. If it was so easy to catch from surfaces and brief touching then the numbers would be way way way more higher by now.

Most places won’t test you if you are straight or a female Obviously most gays will be MSM if that’s all that can get tested in some places. Around LA for the longest time you literally had to be MSM in order to be eligible to be tested. they literally would turn females or straights away. I wonder if that is still happening or not right now

Why should we as gay men get a pass for doing exactly that? If we know the virus is mostly spreading in our community right now, and that NOT having sex for a couple of weeks will help avoiding this disease to become endemic, why aren't we supposed to be responsible and just NOT HAVE SEX? It's not homophobia to call out the people who are actively spreading the virus carelessly, I am sorry.

The problem is shaming statistically doesn't work, although things like cancelling parades or shutting down bathhouses does as evidenced by the AIDS crisis, but the latter would create much more backlash as associating all gay contact or all gay sex with monkeypox that's even safe (Prep, condoms and with one anonymous partner) is a problem on its own. Shaming is statistically useless for Gay Twitter to feel self-important and the data shows it accomplishes absolutely nothing in terms of sexual behavior. I am not supporting drinking the piss of 30 people during a new health emergency that's concentrated about MSM like that one sex worker but he was doing it privately which can't be affected by policy but simply recommendation which has already been made by the WHO. The fear displayed in NYC health department to be politically correct about still having sex while having monkeypox that was reported on was obviously idiotic but that has been addressed and fixed. The hesitation surrounded any gay sexual activity being by default connected to monkeypox which there are ways to address productively in messaging weren't done properly by the Feds because as the Vanity Fair piece indicates they don't know what they're doing. To ask two monkeypox-vaccinated gay men to not be able to hookup is a fool's errand.
CBC Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 My friend just had a test done today and even tho there's no results the doctor said its most likely monkeypox. I might have it too but they told me to just stay aware of possible wounds. I asked for the vaccine in JULY cuz of the Chromatica ball and they will only give it to me IF he tests positive and I don't have wounds by then
