Total number of cases WW tripled over the past week

Not really, a lot more cases than the 270 WHO communicated last Sunday had been already announced, while this time they have taken into account the vast majority of the cases.

The real numbers of announced, confirmed cases were like 450 the Sunday from a week ago and 900 this Sunday

It's not, but it also hasn't tripled. There were around 400 confirmed cases next Sunday (WHO was lagging behind), there's less than 1000 confirmed now. It has probably just doubled.

I haven't counted discarded cases in this list, but from Spain there's at least 188.

The WHO is just really bad at counting cases but have become slightly better this week, therefore the statement of the cases tripling (almost tripling even if WHO had learnt how to count cases) being false, it's closer to 2x or 2,2x.

doesn't change the fact that officially the number tripled

The official number given by WHO, who miscounted the cases big time a week ago and have done a better job of counting them this week.

That would be like comparing a week with COVID with 100,000 tests vs one with 400,000

It's tiring to see only bad reports on here when that's not the reality of the situation. It's cool to mention cases have tripled but a) so far it's false b) cases tripling with no reports of very sick people or deaths, and the absolute vast majority of the cases being explained by sex transmission is very good news and I never see mentioned in here.

Out of around 900 confirmed cases, 0 deaths is excellent news, especially since most of the cases aren't even receiving antivirals we know that work against this illness, so the death rate with antivirals is probably very, very, very low. If there's no reports of deaths or very severe cases and the demographics of the cases don't change in the next two, I think countries could even stop reporting every day or every two days, cause it would clearly pose a small risk to the general pop, but we'll see.

Take that up with them, just reported what the news was reporting, cases tripled to about 780 cases (if I'm not mistaken about the number). You're being way too dramatic about this entire thing, seems like you're scared of this but trying to calm yourself or something by constantly repeating all this irrelevant info everyone's already aware off. It's not false, that was literally the reported news. The fact first week numbers were incomplete is not my problem and doesn't change the fact that the reported numbers tripled. No one said anything about severity or mortality or anything at all cuz it's irrelevant. Why mention no one's died every time, when there are no reports of hospitalizations etc.

No one's mentioning that cuz it's common knowledge it's only transmitted through close contact and it doesn't need to be mentioned every time. You keep bringing up a lot of stuff that's irrelevant to what's being discussed. People aren't expecting a new Covid or plague, they're just reporting on a virus that's spreading in dozens of countries it usually doesn't occur in

Well, you're right in one thing, I'm trying to calm myself, but I don't get how that info is irrelevant. An user thanked me before for my daily information, so I guess it's not that unnecessary and some people are thankful I report it every time. I don't know what's wrong with posting exact, day-to-day information but stay bitter girl

Why aren’t more people talking about this

I'm still pissed I can't get a vaccine for this because the rates of spread are still considered too low :coffee2:
