Erreur2 La Nature Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Paris Hilton, Leona Lewis and Little Mix are non event in the music industry so even if they kept and released the songs mentionned, they would not have been hits. Though Kylie and Janet saying no to Toxic is probably the biggest mistake of their career
Virgos Groove Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) From those three, Leona. But nothing will be more tragic than Nicole Scherzinger turning down Just Dance, We Found Love, On the Floor and Gnarls Barkley's Crazy. Edited May 15, 2022 by ATWK
Johnny Jacobs Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Leona with her turned downs are the most horrifying tbh

Solaria Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Little Mix doing Shape Of You or New Rules doesnt work in my mind at all they are so screamy and anthemic.. Dua’s cool summer vibey voice made the song work idem for Ed
shelven Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Tbh I don't think any of them are super tragic because I don't think any of those songs would have become the huge smashes they became if it wasn't for the hit-making power of the artist who released it. Leona's probably comes the closest to being tragic, because she might have been able to turn Halo into a decently sized hit considering Bleeding Love wasn't that old by the time Halo came out.

Nightingale Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 The only ones I see being hits for those artists are Halo for Leona and Toxic for Kylie. Maybe Burn for Leona too but WFL was only as huge as it was because of Rihanna. Halo would have been a great comeback right in line with Bleeding Love but I think Ryan Tedder has said Halo was always supposed to go to Beyoncé even if it was briefly offered to Leona

andresg770 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) At least Leona had a hit with "Bleeding Love." Nicole's solo career, on the other hand... Oh boy. It could've certainly used some of those songs she rejected. Edited May 15, 2022 by andresg770

Both songs were written by Ryan Tedder and he talked about it. Halo was written for Beyonce and Leona would have it only if Beyonce rejected it. Didn't happen though. With Burn Ryan wanted the song to be released ASAP but Leona's album got delayed so he gave it to Ellie.
Jay07 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 I wonder how Britney would have sounded on Umbrella. Little Mix would have sounded great on New Rules.

ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Kylie should've done Toxic. Maybe it could've been as big as CGYOOMH was for her, and it followed by Red Blooded Woman would've provided her back-to-back hits in the US from Body Language, and the back-to-back success of Fever and Body Language would've finally established her in the US.
