*this is my first time making a thread so sorry if it’s in the wrong section*
But basically what are albums that are listed in an artist “Essential Albums” section that is underserved. AND what are artists that should have more essential albums.

Mariah's are:

Mariah Carey (1990)

Music Box (1993)

Merry Christmas (1994)

Daydream (1995)

The Emancipation of Mimi (2005)

Music Box needs to go and Butterfly needs to be there.

I feel like Music Box deserves a spot for “Hero” and “Without You” alone. Those songs are 90s classics. But yeah I can’t believe Butterfly isn’t one :rip:

Madonna should have Erotica added to hers. Yes the album was a decline in sales but the Sex book has to be one of the biggest pop culture events of the early 90s. The album is iconic and has gotten retrospective acclaim.

Skip Whitney's discography apart from her debut and Bodyguard soundtrack :rip:

Honestly, it's best to listen to Mariah and Madonna in order. There's so much evolution.

Confessions or American Life should replace ST, the songwriting on these is just as Madonna as it gets, especially AL :gaydonnacat1:

If you don’t have patience to do their whole discographies I’d say for Madonna do The Immaculate Collection —> Erotica —> Bedtime Stories —> and Ray of Light. The Immaculate Collection is in chronological order anyways so you’ll experience the evolution in her music.
For Mariah (at least her 90s work) I’d skip Music Box and Rainbow.

I personally think her selection is perfect.

Coldplay: Parachutes and AROBTTH

Great picks but I think they should also add Viva la Vida (their best album) and AHFOD (their biggest 2010s era).

I just saw the title, I mean "Apple Music" but you guys figured that out :rip:

Also I think The Immaculate Collection should be an essential album. I know it's not a studio album and they mainly only include studio albums BUT Morrisey has a compilation album for one of his essential albums. Also, TIC as an album is iconic for many reasons.
