Taylor is here to stay and slay!!!  i can sense that Sabrina is one of the new pop girls who is going to have longevity though

I doubt Taylor would ever mentor her replacement, let alone allow her to open for her around the world during the biggest tour of her career. :celestial5:

You know what? It's not that crazy. The industry is ageist as hell and we are starting to see how our 30 something favourite artists start to become "blacklisted" from radios.

Well but following that logic Sabrina it's not the one they are trying since she's already 25. They would try with a 16-something girl out of nowhere and start pushing her since the start of her career

Sabrina and Taylor are not the same though. The only thing is similar is the blonde hair

She always seems too be right about these sorta things. I know we laugh and point at azelea a lot. But when it comes to industry point of view tactics she always seems to nail it.

When has she made a correct prediction?

Taylor and Sabrina are both blonde pop artists, that's where the similarity ends.  They're very different and Sabrina isn't going to "replace" Taylor.  Nobody is, and nobody needs to.  Multiple female artists can coexist.

Historically, yes, but I feel like it's slowly starting to change in the TikTok age.  Taylor (still in her lower 30s, I know) is currently experiencing a peak larger than we've seen any artist have in years. Even Katy honestly had a decent amount of comeback hype with the Teenage Dream nostalgia that she's unfortunately ruining, but I think people would have supported a better/non-Dr. Luke produced single.

I think it used to be that way because the industry bigwigs truly controlled so much, but now the public has more of a say than ever.

can we ditch creating a topic for every single tweet she makes? why do you all care what Azealia Banks of all people has to say? throughout the years she has shown that she is a deeply transphobic, evil person. why are we STILL here? why can't we move on?

So much for the "she may be harsh but she's never wrong" crowd.

If Sabrina was Taylor's "replacement", Taylor would not be helping that girl at all lol Taylor is cliqued up and someone would tip her off to this. I think it's that other Gen Z pop girl-not named Billie Eilish-that I think the industry was/is "prepping" hence, why Swift cooled on her.

Also, Banks needs to get real :toofunny2: How is Scooter gonna imprison Taylor over re-releases? If she was on the outs like that, tptb would not be allowing her to re-release her old music. A lot of things wouldn't be happening if she was truly opposing the establishment.

Azealia is the Nostradamus of this generation.

Sabrina Carpenter is pushed because she puts out wildly appealing music and got a very good look for social media. I'd say they're trying tap into the Dua Lipa kinda girl market

I want to think that, too. But at the same time I feel like commercial success and popularity are very volatile, we've seen how it changed for many pop stars in a relatively short span of time. And the power some of these industries have is a bit overlooked. They can put an artist on everyone's radar just investing money, I think we're seeing it too these days.

Awards shows, radios, promo on streaming platforms... So many things us as public can't fully control.

Azealia is really dramatic though, I don't think someone like Taylor can be "destroyed". She'd have to make so many wrong decisions in life and have so much bad luck :gaycat7: Also Taylor is very aware of how this works (I think one of her recent songs talked about this "fear" of being replaced) and is working extra hard to be untouchable.

Nah. They don't even soundalike musically.

But nowadays it's more unusual for a 16-something artist to do music at that scale. I think the industry in the past decades was more savage and predatory and there was more ingenuity and lack of information so label executives took advantage of artists having big dreams of success. In this economy only rich people are allowed to dream :gaycat6: (see Billie Eilish with her very privileged background).

Wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to push Sabrina for 7 years and then replace her with someone else.

can we please ban Azealia threads? Arca identifies as a woman and is one. (A really beautiful one as well)
