Beyonnaise Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 As 1989 TV seemingly approaches, that means the return of modern pop classic Blank Spacesus to the charts. For an artist with many hits, Blank Space is the biggest. It was her longest running Hot 100 #1 at seven weeks. The GP can’t get enough of it, it consistently outstreams almost every (or every?) other song from 2014-15, it’s the undeniable favorite Taylor Swift song of a lot of casual fans, specifically men. Assuming the album comes out soon, could it repeak #1 on the Hot 100?
hector.adriel Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 I genuinely think SOMETHING from 1989 will hit #1. Personally I hope it’s the criminally underrated and #1 that got away “All You Had To Do Was Stay”, but I’ll be happy with any 1989 song going #1.
Blank Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Maybe if it’s the focus, but I’m hoping for Stylsus, as a casual fan
Arrows Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 She should release a vault track with big promo a month before, and then promote Blank Space on album release. If she really wanted she could snatch 2 (quick little) #1 singles
Hot Volcano Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 No All Too Well went #1 cuz it was unknown outside the fandom and she released a high budget music video (basically a short film) that was highly promoted and went viral on all over social medias. The nerve to think one of her biggest smash hits will easily go back to #1 like this x100
Hunter_13 Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Nah I think she'll push a vault track or one the more popular album cuts like she said on Seth Meyers.

Fruity Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Style would definitely be the correct single for a #1 push.
Ms. Togekiss Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 No, but I would be very glad if she proved me wrong
diamondsky Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 ATW10 made us cocky Let's hope for a top ten, maybe top five for the focus single (hopefully Style)
Jynx Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 No, it already went #1 She should try and push Wildest Dreams/Style/Clean to number 1.

wastedpotential Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 On one hand, it already went #1 so maybe she should let some other song have their moment in the sun. On the other hand, as far as I can tell only one song in history (The Twist by Chubby Checker) has ever gone #1 on 2 different runs up the chart, first in 1960 and then in 1962, and that would be a ******* insane record for Blank Space, so I'd live if it happened. Not to mention it's CASUALLY doing 1M streams per day and is the second track on the album.
favorite crime Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 No lol. It will go #1 on US Spotify if there are no major releases around but that's it. ATW (10MV) was basically a brand new song for the GP and thee most long awaited song for fans in Taylors career. Only from the vault tracks might have a chance at going #1 on BB
aesthetic bih Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 (edited) I'll play safe and say no, but maybe one of the vault tracks (given she promotes it) could do it. Edited May 8, 2022 by aesthetic bih

That’s not how any of this works She’s not going to go on a full-fledged promo campaign for a song that was already a major hit less than a decade ago. With ATW it made sense because it was able to reach people who hadn’t heard the original. Edited May 8, 2022 by Aaron
Gerardo Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Doubt it, I’d say a vault track or a non single from the OG would be more likely
Goaty Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 I don't think so. It would need a video and single treatment but I think she'll only do that for a vault track.
Kiss It Better Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 maybe but if any (and only one) original 1989 TV tracks would hit #1 i hope it's Style or New Romantics, also hoping NR gets a video treatment with all 1989 videos looks being in the video (like a mini LWYMMD video)
