Sinn Féin are the first Nationalist party to have won the Northern Ireland Assembly Elections in over 101 years, meaning Michelle O’Neill will be First Minister of Northern Ireland :duca:

Means that Unionism is down completely. DUP lost 6.1% of their votes, and Alliance has 17 seats which is the highest ever for a cross-community party.

Ireland being reunified in our lifetimes would be truly wonderful to see. The old prejudices are dying

I’m from NI and I’m over the moon. Michelle O’Neill is a queen. She was a teen mother from a tiny town in Tyrone and turned her life around to become the first nationalist First Minister.

I want to like Alliance but they come across as duplicitous unionists.

Alliance aren’t unionists, they’re a non-sectarian/cross-community party meaning they don’t take sides.
