Elusive Chanteuse Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I don't get streaming. How do you break a streaming record and not even touch 500k? Music is so weird now.

CrimsonX Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 i guess cornballs won this week. bad bunny is still wack and I honestly don't get why hes popular at all. he's just gross to me. its still Jack Harlow season. he has 2 recent number ones and more hits to come.
GreatestLoveofAll Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Ok this debut was more expected. Also, I dont think Jack is underperforming- he is still growing to his fullest potential and if this era is as good as his last, he'll just keep getting bigger. Congrats to BB tho 260k is massive for anyone let alone someone who hardly sings in English
Price88 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 How is that underperforming when doja did the same and look at how well she’s done? God, people expect way too much. It’s not 2010 no more. The only ones that can do better are on the list of best selling artists of all time. So yea don’t expect anyone that ain’t drake, Eminem, Taylor, Adele, maybe Gaga and Bieber to do better.

Renan90 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 TOP 20: HOP HOP AND AWAY Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas) will land at #1 with the biggest debut of the year. Meanwhile, Jack Harlow’s Come Home the Kids Miss You (Generation Now/Atlantic) will battle with Future’s I Never Liked You (Freebandz/Epic) for the #2 spot, and Arcade Fire's WE (Columbia) looks to open in the Top 10 alongside Ella Mai's Heart on My Sleeve (10 Summers/Interscope). https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=331365&title=TOP-20%3A-HOP-HOP-AND-AWAY
Polgg48 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Halestorm charting stream Terrible Things and The Steeple
Ger Posted May 10, 2022 Author Posted May 10, 2022 Great hold for Future! Expected way better for Jack. Bad Bunny numbers are CRAZY!
Armani? Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 The 2nd week drop for Jack is looking like it will be bad, the GP is dragging it to the pits of hell
Hector Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Hoping Arcade Fire squeak into the top 5. And not a bad debut for Ella Mai considering how muted this rollout is compared to her debut.
slw84 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 I wonder if gunna gets a boost due to his RICO case thing. It is free promotion.
fridayteenage Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 5 to 13 for ella arcade fire's last 3 albums were #1; been 5 years since the last though, 100k.
Carrie-is-no-1 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 (edited) Arcade Fire topping pure sales All those artists that sell less than 100 copies Edited May 11, 2022 by Carrie-is-no-1
GeminiCat Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 I thought Ella was going to do way worse so I'm happy she'll at least get a top 15 album W for Jack selling over 100K but slightly underwhelmed by these numbers considering the hype leading up to release, ngl Nice hold by Future and Bad Bunny is insane.
Protocol Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 A bit of a rough drop for Arcade Fire. Down 70% from Everything Now. But it's been five years and that last album damaged their image. I hope this new one has legs though because it's really excellent. Melodically one of their strongest ever.

Different things. the charts need to let go of the past and just accept that “sales” aren’t really a thing anymore. Have a sales chart and a streaming chart. If they insist on having a BB200 then make it revenue based or something I agree 100%. The current charts don't really make sense since they try to combine sales and streaming, which are two very different forms of consumption. There should just be a separate sales chart and streaming chart, both for songs and albums. It's especially weird if you try to compare current charts with those from a decade or more ago.
yamiyuuuu Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Ella! I thought top 40 at best for her DFMU is that song the album is a snoozefest though
