slw84 Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Poor Jack. His moment got diminished by Bad Bunny. I'm happy to see people are releasing gearing up for Summer. Bring on the bops.
Apolonio ₃₄ Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Jack is definitely not underperforming. Both him and BB are gonna do great.
JCsNumba1Fan Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 HDD really underestimated Benito. These baseless preliminary predictions need to stop. Just wait for the first day.

Streaming really caused a shift Really depends on who released. But 250-300k first week has been considered a success even back then. Jack's doing well.

Today 1,500 people listening to 30 seconds of the same song a day makes 1 sale. It is not necessary to stream the whole album to be counted as sales, so I consider the formula to be very advantageous since in most cases it does not reflect the popularity of an album, but of a song. Only obsessed stans engage in such behaviour. Most people listen to full songs. Plus who's to say people listened to their entire cds instead of just their favourite songs
Raspy Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 So Morgan Wallen racist ass is smashing Bad Bunny with his spanish album is smashing Hmmm interesting
Marco_g2 Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Anyone discussed the "tryna come the same day as Jack, rethink it" line in First Class already?

Cloröx Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Not that one Liddos trying to hide behind Bennito to shade Taylor Huh maybe most of us really overestimated Jack

You gays are weird. Take that insecurity somewhere else. The Gaga Stan brought up Taylor immediately. Let’s not.

Olivia only needed 11 but congrats to Bad Bunny Y’all always with this Men hating obsession, Why don’t we talk about Olivia’s advantages? She had three active singles during the release week, more playlisting than him, plus the most obvious one, her album was in English unlike Bad Bunny’s Un verano sin ti it’s predicted to have 300M streams in its first week in the US (a country where English is the official language) which is on par with Sour’s 300M streams, but now let’s compare the album’s streams on Spanish speaking countries and see how Bad Bunny completely OBLITERATES Olivia’s numbers there OT: yes bad bunny yes streams

We don't see many (or even any) diamond albums in digital age. But if you look at any previous eras you'd see plenty. Current breed of top artists are also mega popular and their albums spend much longer on the charts, but somehow can't reach the same certifications. It just doesn't make sense What doesn’t make sense is trying to convert streams to sales in the first place. Different things. the charts need to let go of the past and just accept that “sales” aren’t really a thing anymore. Have a sales chart and a streaming chart. If they insist on having a BB200 then make it revenue based or something

He spent record breaking amount of weeks in the top 10 and his album is only 4x plat. He should have been diamond long ago. Only 2 albums are above 4m this decade which is ridiculous when people consume more music than ever
Gui Blackout Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I don't see how Jack is underperforming? He's really not that big to begin with, these are great numbers specially in a packed week

PopNStuff Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 Bad Bunny showing that Reggaeton isn't just a fad, I'm here for it. The recording academy better stop sleeping on these Latin artists cause they are making history.
