Meanwhile, Jack Harlow’s Come Home the Kids Miss You (Generation Now/Atlantic) will battle with Future’s I Never Liked You (Freebandz/Epic) for the #2 spot, and Arcade Fire's WE (Columbia) looks to open in the Top 10 alongside Ella Mai's Heart on My Sleeve (10 Summers/Interscope). NEW RELEASES: BUNNY & JACK It's Derby Day but there's no horse race for #1 on next week's HITS Top 50. Rimas' Bad Bunny comes out of the gate strong as Un Verano Sin Ti is on pace for year's biggest first week and the most impressive start of his career. Bunny broke the first day Global streaming record at Spotify with more than 180m first day streams. In the US., total streams for the week could top 300m. Jack Harlow's Come Home The Kids Miss You is projected to open at #2. Bad Bunny (Rimas) 235-260k Jack Harlow (Generation Now/Atlantic) 110-135k TWO DAYS BEFORE... This week will see releases from Generation Now/Atlantic’s Jack Harlow (160-180k) and Rimas’ Bad Bunny; our initial forecast is in the 125-150k range. Edited May 13, 2022 by Ger-55
Cheers Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 What is Jack underperforming from? People just set him up. He was never that popular.
State of Grace. Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Trolling aside, Jack doing 120k would be good. His debut opened with 50k. It's just that I (and many people it seems) got fooled by Industry Baby and all the Twitter hype surrounding him these past few months. First Class smashing also made me think he would do more. I guess people be thirsting without streaming
Likingstars Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 120k is actually good for Jack I think if he wants to cross over more he needs more solid hooks on his songs
Hot Volcano Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 300m US streams??! He is coming to top Taylor's biggest week streaming-wise and therefore officially become bigger than her in the US aswell
Ger Posted May 7, 2022 Author Posted May 7, 2022 For those who don't know, I'm saying "underperformance" related to the very early HDD forecasts that stated Jack was doing at least 160k.
ToraeGilt Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Are you ppl insane? By what metric is jack underperforming? His last album barely did 50k first week.

ToraeGilt Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 I remember when doing 500k and up were considered huge. Now the standards have lowered to 200/300k . Streaming really caused a shift

Didnt know that he can sell albums too Why are they listing 180M as the first day numbers. That sentence is wrong

He is coming to top Taylor's biggest week streaming-wise and therefore officially become bigger than her in the US aswell The fact he's catching up to music industries like Taylor and Drake, while only being active since 2016, first album in 2018, and all of his content being in Spanish. A KING! THEE MUSIC INDUSTRY!

BnPac Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 (edited) I am always disappointed by streaming numbers, you hear someone broke the one-day record and the album itself did more than 140M which is huge yet it just amounts to 200-250k. It just seems underwhelming when compared to the peaks artists reached with digital /physical sales. Edited May 7, 2022 by BnPac

That's why we have albums staying around for months and years now
