Madonna has obviously made references to her past sound, like Living For Love's 90s house vibes and that failed to chart. Meanwhile her contemporary, Sophie-produced collab with Nicki Minaj did... what now, sis?

How many years ago was that, babygirl? Oh ok.

Are we just going to ignore the continuous flops from her most recent “contemporary collabs”? Every single one of them flopped.

Did I lie? Plus, Crave, a contemporary collab happens to be her highest charting single on the Adult Contemporary charts since Frozen. That’s a smash for 2010s Madonna standards. https://www.billboard.com/artist/madonna/chart-history/asi/

Expecting a 63 year old woman to top the mainstream charts is ridiculous. Even if she released Hung Up right now it would flop..

working with Pat Leonard. They collaborated on what, 5 albums and countless singles that aren’t from albums. He knows her best (producers wise) and can help her go back to her roots. True Blue/Who’s That Girl OST —> Like a Prayer —> I’m Breathless (he was the main producer for all four albums) all show extreme versatility and all have depth, but fun aspects to them. Plus didn’t he help her out with Frozen?

Ugh yes I want her to work with him again so badly. His work on Leonard Cohen’s You Want It Darker was so good.

An AC chart is supposed to be great? No one said anything about topping the charts but she can’t even enter the pop charts when the intended use of these collabs with these modern artists is to at least have some momentum :skull:

Yes, an AC chart for 60-year-old woman in an ageist industry is great. Pop radio drops women once they hit 30, you think Madonna is gonna enter the pop charts double that age? Worms.

GMAYL charted in the top 10, BIM is the only song from Rebel Heart to chart and Crave is her biggest song on Adult Contemporary chart since Frozen. Is that not momentum? :rip:

I'm sorry but these track lists are all awful :rip:

I'd like her next album to be more focused and with less filler. There are amazing moments Madame X and Rebel Heart (and even MDNA), but the problem with those albums is that they go on for too long and sometimes feel like collections of songs rather than albums. Give us 12 tracks with a cohesive sound.

Yess he’s so talented and knows her so well musically. And they’ve been through so much together. I mean, he started working with her on the Virgin Tour so he experienced Madonna when she was young and carefree, to married Madonna (TB and WTG), divorced Madonna (LAP), and then beyond.
