The remasters are great. I am looking forward to the remasters of her albums based on these.

Does Madonna love Hollywood specifically?

I was surprised to see it on this shorter list, not complaining though at all

Tbh it’s a great remix compilation and I feel like the only weak ones are: Secret, Hollywood and GI2M (is that really the best remix?).

My favorites are: Music, Hung Up, L4L, Medellín!!! D&D, and well Vogue, EY and ITG but I feel like those are just different edits not main remixes.

Also is my ear wonky or I hear no difference between the already released remixes vs these new ones? For example the Music remix came out a few months ago or last year and I hear it just the same as the 2022 remaster.

Can’t wait for all the other ones, these feels like a GH album and they all flow flawlessly with a new spark, there’s some favorites there and then also some questionable ones…

Don't Tell Me (Vission   Mix) and Die Another Day (Deepsky Remix) should have been on the CD/main version

I hope they’re remastering You Can Dance in its full gapless glory down the line. IDK about earlier versions but on digital version, Physical Attraction & Over and Over don’t even segue into songs before & after those :deadbanana:

Tbh I dont understand how remixes worked in the 80s, songs on You can dance sound almost the same as album versions :skull: And who would want to hear 7 min of over & over? :rip:

Why is no one talking about the hung up remix? It's really good

I mean...that sounds more like a remix than what JLo did with her remix album. Changing full lyrics, song structure, add new vocals and basically do an entire different song to the point they are not the same thing and only have the same title is...not a remix.

Early pop remixes were fairly simple; in the 1980s, "extended mixes" of songs were released to clubs and commercial outlets on vinyl 12-inch singles. These typically had a duration of six to seven minutes, and often consisted of the original song with 8 or 16 bars of instruments inserted, often after the second chorus; some were as simplistic as two copies of the song stitched end to end. As the cost and availability of new technologies allowed, many of the bands who were involved in their own production (such as Yellow Magic Orchestra, Depeche Mode, New Order, Erasure, and Duran Duran) experimented with more intricate versions of the extended mix. Madonna began her career writing music for dance clubs and used remixes extensively to propel her career; one of her early boyfriends was noted DJ John Jellybean Benitez, who created several mixes of her work.

After the rise of dance music in the late 1980s, a new form of remix was popularised, where the vocals would be kept and the instruments would be replaced, often with matching backing in the house music idiom.

I wouldn’t assume any great chart positioning until the physicals are released in august.

All of the 16 tracks will be included in the 50-track version. This version we got is just a little teaser for the real album coming in August, which is meant to honour her 50 Dance #1s.
