Not Christina Aguilera

She got a Gold single this year. The other 4 noms alongside her that year haven’t seen that in about half a decade.

That gold single you speak of: N/A

She did get a cute Latin gold for sales of 30k, though! :)

Where should we put Maroon 5?

They're not smashing but they did have a huge smash as recently as 2019, and Beautiful Mistakes was a cute hit last year so they're not BOMBING boming commercially as other BNA winners

They’re still relevant I guess. I think Maroon 5 will continue to score medium hits because Adam’s voice is perfect for radio hits like Beautiful Mistakes.

They’re in a weird position because I think they’re completely kept afloat by radio and playlisting. If their label pulled the plug on promo I wonder how many people actually listen to them :lakitu:

Yeah, but their touring power is still very respectable, I think.

Their album debuted with 60k-ish units worldwide last year, this should tell you enough.

OT: Mariah is a legend, Billie is halfway through EGOT with only 20 years, Dua Lipa is possibility the biggest female hitmaker of the 2020s so far.

Not Meghan Trainor, Alessia Cara, Macklemore and fun. Apparently Macklemore still gets good streams, but I couldn't tell you the name of anything he released since his awards wins in 2014 and "fun." never put out anything after their awards wins in 2013. Not sure if they officially broke up, or maybe they just forgot they were a band.

Not sure about Christina Aguilera either, she still has some fans, but I only hear about her on ATRL.

Edit: Chance the Rapper might belong in the not-relevant category too. Not sure what happened, he released his album in 2019 and most of his shows in The Big Tour appear to have been cancelled.

I think this is correct. Alicia may be over commercially, but she is always booked. Hosting the Grammys AS a Best New Artist winner was historic. Plus, she still does global tours.
