Death & Decay Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 ATRL says Xtina isn’t a MPG. So if you’re mentioning her, you’re not very bright.
naval23 Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Taylor - SIO is the only one considered global based on peaks, and even that was a top 5 hit throughout Europe at best but Blank Space, IKWYT, Love Story were cute top 10 hits in some European territories

LWYMMD had phenomenal peaks + certifications in every European country but is nowhere near Blank Space/IKYWT in total chart units, and it's not like their peaks were bad either. Same applies for IDWLF, which went top 5 in every European market and had very steady chart runs as well as YEC placements there. So going by your logic, she still has several. WANEGBT for example is one of her biggest smashes in South Korea and Japan, selling over a million pure sales in both. Very few pop girls have million-selling singles in Japan, Rihanna for instance hardly has any platinum ones.

Without You, Hero, All I Want for Christmas Is You, We Belong Together (UK - recently recharted there, Oceania, US, recently recharted in South Korea), Fantasy all at the VERY least.
byzantium Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Any artist who only had one or maybe two hit eras. Adele, Christina, Gaga tbh. If anyone says someone like Beyonce, Taylor, Rihanna, Mariah, or Madonna, they are just delusional.
TheRealGâteau Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Easily, Taylor Swift. Massive in the US, flop outside. But that's amazing for her. She can go on vacation abroad without paparazzi or people recognizing her.

The fact still remains that she has the 3rd best performing album of all time in Australian chart history. On top of that, she's constantly breaking all-time chart records in Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, etc. Cope and seethe!

The whole top 10 is filled with albums released in the 2010s, no way in hell is that Luke Combs album which peaked at #7 for example bigger than ******* Come On Over and Thriller to name a few

Honey, look at this list and think: https://australian-charts.com/bestall_a.asp?page=1 Only THREE albums in the Top 20 weren’t released in the 2010s, does it make sense to you that 90% of the best performing albums in Australia were released last decade? 1989 is clearly hugely successful but this list is ridiculous and invalid.

I already stated it's based on chart points. I'm well aware the list doesn't take into account sales, but even so 1989 is the longest charting female album of all time in ARIA chart history and was certified diamond within a year of release. Its performance in Australia and a few other countries is unprecedented. The album is literally charting inside the top 30 this week and made the YEC for 8 consecutive years. To claim that Taylor Swift is a nobody outside the US when she's constantly breaking all-time records in several markets is laughably false. Edited May 3, 2022 by KOMH
