Even after the release some people were quite confident it would outsell folklore at the very least. Not to mention that one user who said Adele would be out-streaming Taylor for months. Quite a few of those users are in the thread Who cares what people said 6 months ago Get over it

Units = sales in 2022. People moving goal topic to pure sales to claim 30 is bigger than Folklore when Folklore has more units is just nonsencial.

Anna-Artdeco Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 30 hasn’t even outsold Tones and I’s last album let alone any Taylor album. And last time I checked, we’re in the streaming era so streams are greater than pure sales because unlike pure sales, which are produced en masse by labels by hogging up vinyl factories for artists who clearly don’t have the demand, streams are legit. If people stream your work, they stream it, period. The more embarrassing part is how 30 is being outcharted by RED TV in USA and is nearly pulling the same units as 1989 - a freaking 2014 album in UK, her home turf. The floppage was bad for ha.

I mean I understand what you are getting at but the topic is about 30 outselling those 3 projects and it in fact did by the pure sales benchmark so the statement isn't factually wrong, which is what I'm getting at. also Strihms will never be equivalent to someone having a physical or digital copy of your album. the same applies to songs. One person holding your album or song indefinitely is way more impressive than thousands of people strihming it to make up one alleged "sale". Edited May 3, 2022 by RihFenty20

They both generate revenue for the artist, also streaming had a lower carbon footprint than any physical format, what's your point?
KOMH Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 People acting as if 30 will ever reach Lover or Reputation's total pure sales in the US

No one means "pure sales" when talking about "outsold" in 2022. Give it up delicies
