From what I recall, she had quite a few negative things she implied about black people. Being black is more than just having black blood in your DNA, but that’s a topic for another day. Good for her!

Lol came in to say the same thing because I could have sworn she wasn’t a Black woman anymore once people found out she was into white dudes. She is biracial, always has been, Black people don’t have white mothers (nor white fathers, nor nonBlack parent). The one drop rule is over and it’s racist.

and before any of y’all start with the report button, cause I know how y’all ATRLers like to tussle, 1) it’s not off topic cause she surpassed a record for “Black women” which she is not and two it is not flambait because Doja asked the same question I and @BeyIridescent are asking.

signed a Black woman (with TWO Black parents and a Doja fan)

idk how to embed tweets so if it does it does if it doesn’t it doesn’t, there’s the link.

And “bi” in biracial means “two”…Black and White.  Her  being raised by her White mom also does not erase her Blackness.  Y’all don’t do it to Drake, who was also raised by a white woman.  Drake ***** ass has a whole ass baby by a WHITE woman at that.  :skull:

What y’all not gonna do is imply that Black looks one way.  That Black only dates one kind of people.  And that Black is raised in one particular way/neighborhood.  This has always irked me, even outside of this Doja ****.

Biracial women always set these records in pop and that alone is the main issue.

Please. This distinction is made when it came to Obama, Drake, Alicia Keys, HER and so on.

How is it one drop when it's half her race?

Congratulations to Doja!

What about records set by Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Brandy, Monica, etc etc etc ?

Like…Alicia, Mariah, and Doja are not the only artists in the history of Billboard making/breaking charting records.

God damn this thread I understand celebrating your heritage and the acknowledgement of erasure of black peoples’ achievements in media(especially marginalized groups like darker skin women/men, full black women/men, gay black women, etc etc), but erasing Doja’s experience in her own blackness is not productive to the conversation.
