I’m sorry but what type of an excuse is that? Are you saying that she didn’t show up for studio sessions - so someone had to fill in? I can’t even make sense of what you are even implying.

It’s not an excuse, she was literally a modern day legal slave. None of us were in the studio with but it sure doesn’t take much thought to conclude she most likely refused to record those trash tracks picked by her father so he went ahead and approved the use of the demo singer imitating her, against Britney’s wishes.

he literally said to her “I’m Britney Spears now”

No, it's just misogyny

Indeed. Very few women are respected (because of this).

I'll answer yes so you would be happy :giraffe:

Yes sadly, she's definitely the Milli Vanilli of pop girls

so now you don’t care what users think but in the other thread you were co-signing others who slightly aligned with your deluded narrative that day. How the turntables

i didn’t know you were my accountant! You must be as you seem to know how much my and my family’s estate is

speaking facts=/=attacking successful women I don’t know. I didn’t start the misogyny convo and I certainly did not hide behind personal attacks like you…

your post literally serving this

Lol that’s nice dear, can’t wait to see you become the top poster in every thread where the general populace of ATRL acknowledges that Britney vocals sound like if tires screeching somehow had a baby with a hyena on steroids. Also using meme images from 2008? Cringe. Stuck in the past just like your faves minimal talent I see

anyways back to the topic at hand presented by OP, Britney’s lackluster vocals certainly paved the way for Selena Gomez’s whispery mumbling. Truly lucky for Selena that Britney opened the door for so many mediocre singers to become mainstream. The auto tune industry should thank Brittney for her bravery. It takes a lot of courage to sound that horrendous live

Okay I’m thinking that y’all had receipts or something, but this is just what Britney fans assume.

Sweetie even the most talented ones are discredited. Female popstars are not (and have never been) "respected" due to misogyny. Blaming it on one person is lazy and removes attention from a much bigger issue.

Probably. Thank God Beyoncé prove the masses wrong by performing Listen at the X Factor and latter performing at the Glastonbury, SB and Coachella.

The issue is not facing why music made and consumed primarily by females is seen as less than (inherent sexism, see the Grammy president just a few years ago saying females need to "step it up") the issue is trying to discredit  Britney and call her talentless and manufactured (even though she got a job at the MMC, got her own recording contract, came up with her own concepts, sang live, wrote songs and was an ace entertainer) because Christina is a washed up flop.

Not all pop girls lack respect like Britney does. Please don’t put all of them in a bubble with her ?!

Absolutely. The main reason why she was so successful in her early career was purely based on her looks and image. Once she lost her sex appeal and the public saw through her lack of talent, come 2007 she wasn't a threat to anybody anymore.

If anything she brought pop back with all these labels pushing to find their own Britney: Xtina Jessica Mandy

Now she has younger pop stars citing her as their influence: Lady Gaga, Miley, Selena, etc.

That doesn’t sound like disrespect to me but because some misogynistic people make fun of her y’all have to be ignorant too

I'd say it's more that era in music and Britney being one of the biggest symbols of it. The Spice Girls, NSYNC, Backstreet Boyz etc were there too, with bubblegum pop rising and songs like Barbie being massive hits. No one was (intentionally) taking themselves or the music that seriously, especially juxtaposing it with how early and mid-90s music took itself way more seriously with acts like Nirvana and Radiohead. But even that didn't last so it wouldn't be fair to say Britney is the reason pop girls aren't taken seriously, especially when I don't think there's ever been a time when they've received such critical recognition and acclaim as now.

No, the GP is just dumb and close minded about music.

Britney was always the biggest punching bag of Pop for a reason though.

Britney jean Vocal Producer said her team messed up his work

He gave many interviews in the past months and talked how the songs choices were political and how him and Britney co-wrotte a lot of the songs together (since is common for writter to send songs without the second verse)

We dont know what exactly happened with that album, and he said he wont say more because its Britney place to talk... but its obvious that wherever happened its not her fault, she had no autonomy to drive alone whetever she wanted, how could she say "i wont record this" when they could make her stay weeks far from her children

Yeah, there are many interviews, including from producers recognizing her involvement. Even Will I Am said she asked to write more and said she had a few songs she written.

If I'm not mistaken her vocals are actually present in every BJ song, it's just that they mixed it with Mya Marie for some reason so not only was she initially involved in the creative process, but also recorded the songs, but her team for some reasind decided not to use it. And again this is the only album where this has happened.
