Richie.Valdez Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Misogynistic thread… should be closed. ATRL shouldn’t endorse misogyny.
Souvenir Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 why are there so many britney hate threads? calm tf down
NausAllien Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 4 minutes ago, Insanity said: Why do people spend there time hating on someone who spent 1/3 of her life being controlled and abused. I hope none of u ever get put under conservativship for 13 years. Criticism =/= Hate Even though I sympathize with Britney and I feel terrible for that she went through, it doesn't mean I can criticize her as an artist and a performer. The lip-syncing wasn't something forced on her. She chose to lip-sync for almost her entire career, even she had a ton of control over her business and performances. It made the GP lose respect for her and seem that style of music as manufactured and lacking music talent.

Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Britney was the face of Pop music during the peak of Y2K. She was as respected as much as, if not more then any other mainstream idol?♀️Sure the General public clowned her and her music, but she was still winning Awards, Being Praised by Hundreds of Millions, and left the biggest impact on the genre in the 21st century. I don’t know about y’all but that’s Respect.

That’s it’s okay to be rude to ppl if they’re not commercially successful? Yikes lil Kim was supper successful and relevant at the time of this incident. there’s literally no logic to your post. Unless you’re saying deserves to be irrelevant today because she’s a bad person then I’d agree

NausAllien Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 3 minutes ago, Insanity said: Then why do all of today's current stars love and adore Britney? For a number of reasons: - Nostalgia - She's a nice person - She has mostly kept to herself, hasn't been involved in feuds - The admire her dancing - They find her voice compelling (which is a subjective thing) You won't see many ARTISTS claiming to be inspired by Britney ARTISTICALLY. It is mostly her performance style, etc. that has been an inspiration for some, but not her musical/vocal ability.

Women… specially Britney Spears have been victimized by misogynistic predators for years. If you fuel that behavior you’re part of the problem.

I guess, you have a problem.

The label wanted outrageus and she put out matm and toxic. in 99 they mashed her together at the vmas with nsync and look at what happened in 00 and 01. Complete night and day. #endstupidity #stopspreadingignorance
Rhiannon Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Disney is the one to blame, they created brit, Selena, Justin Timberlake... the fast food of music.

Everything about them was manufactured and they weren't really allowed to have an opinion on anything unless their label and team approved of it. It wasn't exclusive to a single gender. That's clearly not true for Britney who came up with the concept for her first video, if she followed her label desires, BOMT MV would be her fighting cartoon super monsters and she would probably have fallen to anonymity after the 1990s

I was just discussing misogyne being the potential next victim narrative to hide Britney's lack of talent/respect/legacy/success behind. So let the grown (and thinking) person talk. Bye!

Not me. So this begs the question why did YOU bring it up in the first place? Sounds like you’re trying to deflect from the fact that Britney was super rude and shady to Lil Kim just like she was rude and nasty to Fifth Harmony on X Factor tbh so to add onto this thread topic, not only did Britney set a trend in being auto tuned and having terrible vocals she set a trend in being rude and aloof. Slay I guess

Given you're a Madonna stan I'm not even sure you have the age for this anymore. Anyways, this forum is not that different from the pits of the 2000s internet with mysoginy and people trying to let out their frustration by attacking successful woman
Into The Void Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Britney was forced to sing in a baby voice instead of her real one. There's videos online of her real voice and then her trying to sing with the voice she was forced to sing in just watch this

UnusualBoy Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Not you putting the blame on her when the genre was dragged through the mud for being shallow, manufactured, etc
