Julia Fox Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Who are the artists that sold out to the public and abandon their original, unique sound that made them special to get hits and mainstream appeal and failed to do it commercial and critic-wise becoming one of the worst sell outs eras of music industry by a MPG?
Fastlane Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Lady Gaga has literally sold her body and vаgina during ARTPOP era.

Iaintsorry Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 (edited) I want to preface I love these artists btw: - Avril Lavigne (TBDT era was the start) - Nelly Furtado (for mostly just loose) - Rihanna (ditching music after Anti for makeup so 2017-present :p) Edited May 2, 2022 by Iaintsorry
Beyonnaise Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 (edited) Chromatica was clearly the result of stans in her ear telling her to go back to dance pop when I don't think she was in a place in her life to want to really dive in to a pop album with her signature Gaga flair like she used to (clearly a lot of the heavy lifting she did on TF/BTW/ARTPOP in terms of sonic choices were outsourced to Bloodpop and co.) The album ultimately ended up sounding disposable and hollow, and disappointing given her past pop triumphs. Edited May 2, 2022 by Beyonnaise

I feel as though sometimes stans just can’t appreciate a time for what it was, and constantly just want that same thing knowing the artist have either personally or artistically moved on to another phase. I would rather an artist give us an experimental album that they wrote and produced with their whole heart than a pop album made with the sole intention of pleasing other people. Bears01 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Lady Gaga went from a rebel outsider who made her fans accept who they were as people, to becoming a full fledged Hollywood elitist “awards darling” who cozies up to awful people like Tom Cruise
