I think I prefer the original to be honest. It’s not bad though, if this was a new song I’d be floored

Lies and slander :coffee2:

The remake of Potential Breakup Song is atrocious! It lost all of the spark the original had. Insomniatic doesn’t sound dated at all to me, so I just don’t think it’s necessary to remake the songs.

You forgot the iconic simlish version :cm:

Oh my, that's true.

That makes it 4 versions of the same song.

I'm cool with these remasters because it's not like they're getting rid of the old versions so it's just bonus content... but they basically got rid of everything about the OG that made it fun. I liked how dated it sounds.

I agree that Insomniatic doesn't sound dated, however PBS and Like Whoa are easily the two worst produced songs on that record in my opinion. Flattery, Closure, Blush, I'm Here, Silence, Bullseye, and Division all outsold. Besides, they don't get like anything from Hollywood Records and given how poorly they were treated I think reclaiming some of their songs that are doing somewhat well on TikTok is a great strategy and commendable. I mean, I get it, I get the whole nostalgia thing but I really appreciate what they are doing here. I will concede on PBS as I can understand why some people don't approve of the re-recording's choices, but Like Whoa is just in a whole different league now. The electric guitar elements are so much crisper and have such a nice quality to them, and obviously the vocals are stronger.

But I also like love you so it's good

Right?

Although I would love to have the whole record re-recorded because most of the gems of the album are album cuts that don't have the right recognition they deserve (I'm Here, Silence, Insomniatic).

Also Flattery is their BEST SONG EVER. Their second best song ever is Stomach.

Idk why but it sounds kind of out of tune to me? Like the chorus

They should just do complete reworks of their three HWR albums (yes, including 78violet).

Lmao, low-key tea. I mean I shall do better in respecting others' opinions but I simply cannot understand the argument that the original is better produced. Just waiting for people to praise the single version's production :dies:

It would cost more than it's worth unfortunately. I mean, don't get me wrong I would love an Insomniatic (Revisited) but they have to fund everything themselves from touring, music videos, studio time, etc. and given that they are finishing up their next record I'm sure it just wouldn't be pragmatic :weeps:

Tbh I won't be playing this as much as PBUS remake, I just don't like the original song that much even though this new version is superior in every single way.

"A&A Version". Taylor's impact.

The sister duo Meg & Dia also re-recorded their debut single "Monster" from 2006 and titled similar lol

Taylor sure made an impact in the industry.

WHO IS THAT IN YOUR AVI?

Honestly instead of wasting time and money re recording songs that are fine as they are and available they should be working on giving us that scrapped third aly and aj album and getting that hothouse record on streaming services under their name.

they can easily recoup their loses by at least officially releasing that hothouse record onto streaming services

No, they can't. Besides, they don't want to release it, why would they after what David did to them.

What did he do to them?

He leaked the entire album after they decided to shelve it and said some condescending comments I believe. If they were ever to officially release it, he would get a lot of the royalties which I'm sure they wouldn't really want

I didn't know the producer was responsible for the leak. What an ass. :skull:
