Does this have a source or is this another one of those made up fan banners? :rip:

Yes, you can check the page for every artist, although it is in Chinese

Looks fake tbh no official source

It's official, it's on the Chinese digital sales page for all to see, but not all artists put their catalog to be sold in the country

The source is the streaming services and music selling platforms themselves but nice try.

She may be banned from performing in China but her music is not banned from music platforms so this claim is pure bullsh*t.

If y’all don’t stop with this damn lie. China doesn’t have an official source yet. Everyone knows their chart numbers are fake. Xiao Zhan pulled some 24M copies of a digital single in a day and 54M copies within the span of a year in a country where selling 2M physical albums is almost unheard of and the digital market never had a footing. Is anyone gullible enough to believe that this man actually sold more in one country with a small music market than Rolling In The Deep and Poker Face sold combined? :toofunny2:

Quit pushing this narrative that the only people who disparage fake sales are racists. You girls only flocked to Chinese sales in 2017 when your fave started slipping in success. Then you have the nerve to try and drag people who have been following actual Chinese artists for a decade :ahh:

Which is like using TIDAL as an official source :deadbanana: Platforms fabricate numbers. That’s why we only use Point-of-Sale data vetted by third parties like Nielsen Soundscan.

I'm not gonna say you're wrong about that, and nobody should trust anything coming out of China!!! BUT why is it that you and others here seem to think they fabricate numbers for Taylor and ONLY Taylor? If they really do inflate sales - why an American artist like Taylor and nobody else?  And it's not like Taylor only has sales and no support from actual Chinese people irl.  Taylor has performed for big events there and held concerts that were attended by thousands of fans.

This happened one time after this artist being attacked by literally millions of angry Chinese users of a fanfiction community banned by the CCP.  People blamed him and his fans for posting gay fanfiction there and get the whole website deleted. Fans went crazy buying this single to support their fave and push back against the haters.  Then, recently, the CCP pushed new changes and guidelines to be implemented on music streaming services to put an end to crazy behaviour like bulk buying of songs/albums from stans.  It's really not the conspiracy you think it is.

Before we go any further, I’m a SONE and I started disparaging Chinese sales when they first came out and didn’t look right for my own faves (despite Jessica’s massive popularity). In 2017 when Swifties first discovered Chinese sales, they started posting about them non-stop to combat the threads about Reputation being a massive decline. I informed them then that the “sales” were fake, unofficial and not a good source. Instead of actually listening to someone that followed the Chinese market, they doubled-down and tried to gaslight everyone by claiming that anyone who doesn’t buy into their bullshit is racist (the irony there is thick). It has nothing to do with picking on Taylor and everything to do with Swifties being loud and egregiously wrong.

And it isn’t limited to just a handful of singles. Blinding Lights hasn’t even sold 1.3M copies WW despite being the biggest song of the decade by a huge margin. BlackPink’s How You Like That did 3M+ in China. Lay’s Honey did 4.8M in just China. The numbers don’t add up in a country who has never had an album sell 3M+ copies domestically. It’s just like how South Korea was posting 5M+ digital sellers in the late 2000s and early 2010s and their biggest selling physical album was a whopping 400k - they later turned out to be mostly free downloads :skull:

They’re the only girls who have add-on costs to stream their albums. The other girls don’t even put up their music for “sale” - it’s just part of the overall subscription fee :skull:

I don't know why you think there should be an album above 3M+ copies sold domestically, when - and you should know this if you've been following the Chinese music scene - it was never a thing for Chinese people to spend money buying music, at least until recently with cheap digital sales and almost free streaming options. I also fail to comprehend how a stan of SM Ent. groups seems to conveniently forget that Chinese kpop stans are responsible for bulk buying a big percentage of their album sales (and i'm talking buying their albums from Korean websites not Chinese).

Why is it not believable that Chinese BLINKs bought 3M digital copies of HYLT for literal pennies when they were also responsible for buying almost 500k physical albums at 10 USD a piece?? :rip:

South Korean streaming services allow 30 free song downloads per month to every account that purchases a streaming pass so there you've a point.
