And she only really released significantly less singles than Rihanna and Nicki of those names It is more impressive though. Only having 7 singles and all of them having a billion streams is impressive, sure, but what if said artist flopped after that? Ariana has 20 out of 26 singles (of her discography) scattered throughout a decade, qualifying, and those 6 are: 3 from small debut era, one flop from 2016, a minor hit from 2018 that will reach it in the next few years and one that's at 950M. You can not say you don't say a different consistency comparing these two lists. Which is why I never said otherwise nor did I mention Selena in my reasoning, who clearly wouldn't even fit as the type of artist with only a very low amount of consistently successful singles...? Someone who would be more apt for that kind of comparison would be the newer acts like Olivia, Dua, Billie or even Blackpink who probably have the best "success ratio" of them all, at which point you'd argue that they're advantaged since streaming is bigger than ever now, and that - guess what - is my entire point when I say that Ariana debuting right when streaming was blowing up means she's advantaged compared to artists who debuted several years before her, when streaming was barely a thing That doesn't mean her stats aren't impressive so there's no need for y'all to get this defensive, just that she isn't "by far the most impressive one" when you have Katy or Rihanna up there with huge chunks of their discographies being from the digital era. Unless y'all believe the same standards for success in streaming should be held for songs released in 2007-2011 to ones post-2013

Digitalism Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I love it how ATRL always screams TALENT and IMPACT but people actually don't listen to the songs

Robyn. Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Rihanna could have an even bigger gap if she actually released when streaming was becoming more and more dominant Her being #1 with older material is another reminder of her unforgettable legacy
