Hmmm I don’t know how true this is. Didn’t BlackoutZone say she’s pretty much in a droplet era for the next few months? 
 

I’m here for new Katy but more pop? Change it up already.

Sounds exciting, but like... "dance/pop like her TD days" is supposed to hype us up? As if she didn't release 10 droplets and Slime which were all typical Katy and most of that was dance/pop ala TD  

 

Thankfully these kinda descriptions are always wrong! I didn't realize she was already getting ready to release a new album tho.

He said that it seems like she’s not leaving the droplet era anytime soon, a couple of weeks ago. Maybe things have changed? Coming back with a single in May would be following the same pattern that she used for her 2019 releases, but I don’t think it’d be a wise choice if she doesn’t have other material to back it up. Unless she has an album ready.,

Honestly the idea of another pure pop record from Katy tires me out. It would be her fifth. But I hope she proves me wrong
