There have been multiple sighting of top gun poster having "music by Lady Gaga" on it. Also RideOrDie (very reliable ATRL insider) has confirmed it.

Yeah, but the way they filmed it is impressive. It could easily get editing, sound editing, special effects etc.

TBH getting a hit by adding a new song to an already highly successful, iconic and beloved soundtrack is super hard, especially when it's a musical film and no character sings the newly added song.

 

That's why I Move On (added to Chicago), Learn To Be Lonely (added to The Phantom of the Opera), You Must Love Me (added to Evita), Beautiful Ghosts (added to Cats), or Listen (added to Dreamgirls, though it is perhaps the best known of all mentioned before) were not hits, just to name a few.

 

Even re-dos of existing classics like Ariana's Beauty and the Beast and Zayn's A Whole New World don't do well at all, the Ariana's peaked about 10 places higher than Spirit and Zayn's didn't chart.

 

I'm not saying Gaga's needs to be a hit because it's not in the category above... a lot of soundtrack singles don't catch on, BUT it has a better chance given that it's not being injected into an existing soundtrack people are going to the film to see. It's an entirely new film with an entirely new soundtrack.
