AeGONE & AeMEHnd who?

I'll forgive them for an underwhelming S2 if they put all the money they saved into Daeron's WIG BUDGET.

idk some seem to be overreacting lol but yeah definitely this is HBOs fault this time around. I wonder how season 3 is going to be structured. 10? 8? 12 episodes? I'm a bit worried of what Ryan Condal said "S3 will be all about war" it will feel like a lot is going to happen in a short span of time, completely opposite of S2 :deadbanana2:

if there is something everyone agreed weeks ago it was how visual stunning the show was, the acting or costumes/sets were great. I've seen people trying to drag all those things this week. That's how dramatic people are right now. They don't get a shocking/action moment every 2 episodes and act like it was the worst thing EVER.

Someone said GOT was lucky people didn't use that much social media to talk about shows back then and it's true. Imagine these nerds talking about S1 which is mostly talk until the last episode and very low budget lmao

I quite liked the slow burn of this season. It was a nice contrast to the first season, where everything moved so quickly.

We really got to know these locations, characters and their motivations. I imagine the payoff will be great next season.

But I do admit... having an action packed 9th episode might have been a better move to appease most of the viewers.

The way some of yall are still acting dense like, we got one action episode this entire season after waiting 2 years and will now wait another 2 years for the next season :dies:

if this was on every year it would be fine but they CANNOT have "slow" seasons when the seasons are every 2 years. It does not work. People lose interest. It's why the ratings are good but not great like GoT.

I remember reading somewhere that season 3 will also be 8 episodes. I don't remember where, and I can't find it online right now, so I may also be misremembering. :katie:

Did this hoe really just say " A son for a son"

After "An eye for an eye" was a huge problem?

this hypocritical little uncle fucker, and no the greens are just as worse. I dislike everyone besides Helena, Bela, and a few others. Everyone else is trash

This season didn't hold up the way last season did.

George just dragged Ryan to hell and back.  Above is part 1 of 7; click to see the rest, but be warned there are MAJOR spoilers for S3 and 4.

I don't get it. I couldn't watch while it was airing so I'm catching up now and I'm still as in love with this show as I was when it premiered. I managed to steer clear of major spoilers but I did get the impression that fans were disappointed? I get that it moves at a different pace and has its own style (I'd argue) compared to GoT but it's absolutely gorgeous with some of the best television performances of recent times. I'm routinely enthralled by these characters even if they aren't always doing much happy that we'll get two more seasons to finish the story. I love the world they've built :jamming:

The last line (of the whole post not just this part) is ominous, basically "but this should be the least of our worries after I saw the S3 and S4 outlines" :ahh:

Do you find them behaving in S2 logically and consistently with how they were developed in S1?

Yes and no. I think one of the pitfalls of the first season were the time jumps. They were necessary to move the story along but I think they sacrificed the audience learning how time, age, and experience changed these characters. It makes it difficult to discern what actions are warranted and which ones aren’t now that we are, more or less, following them in real time.

For example, Alicent’s conversation with Rhaneys in the penultimate episode of season one kind of set into motion her more tragic arc this season. Always being at the service of men, seeing that place Alicent is more precarious circumstances this season when it once gave her influence felt very intentional and right.

Daemon struggling to fully support Rhaenyra also felt deserved especially considering how violent he was in the season 1 finale (though his plot line this season is not without faults.)

And of course Alicent’s children have all been handled well and act in service of motivations previously established.

The only character who I think the show has truly struggled to get a firm and consistent grasp on is Rhaenyra. I still find the character very compelling, in large part to Emma’s portrayal, but they are the only character whose actions I find myself second guessing or getting confounded by.
