would've been more interesting if they slowly introduced us Alicent's descent like maybe religious visions or something.. being a weirdo with prophecies that no one believes or somethng

That's Haelena though. I do wish we would see more of her, hopefully they do give us a scene with her and her dragon. Can't wait for the convo between her and Aemond

Alicent, I hope she comes back more cunty and in command after her spa trip. I want to see her cunning and gathering up Cole, Larys and Aemond. I guess she would be too similar to Cersei in that way but it seems natural to develop that way after being queen for so long.

Rhaenyra.. enough of the goody two shoes. This ***** is supposed to be fat, ugly, quick tempered and mad. Let the ***** out.

Ouuuu this scares me a biT because I generally agree with your opinions :jonny2:

There are always going to be mistakes in huge shows like this. It's inevitable. And I'm a devoted book reader, so I don't like when they change some things in a way that it stops making sense to me, or when they don't explain things in a way that fits with the canon. I also already pointed out that I didn't like how they did Cregan and Jeyne. We should've got much more time with Jace in the North. He could've built the relationship with Cregan, as they would've bonded over their grief for deceased brothers. And I wasn't the biggest fan of B&C. There was too much focus on the two of them, and I'd prefer if we saw it through Helaena's eyes. There are other things that just don't feel right to me. Aeriana Targaryen makes a bit of a messy situation. They could've just said that Ser Steffon had a Targaryen ancestor who was born before the Conquest, not explaining who it was. The way they explained Aeriana doesn't fit well with the timeline, but it makes sense. Ser Steffon tried to claim Seasmoke in the books and there are mentions of Targaryens marrying outside of the family before. However, the way they explained raises too many questions that don't lead to a plausible answer. George himself wrote about some of the things that he doesn't like on his blog, and I agree with him.

But it's still an amazing show and I'm really enjoying it. It raises some of the amazing questions regarding gender and class. They've done that remarkably. Can't wait to see more of HotD.

Out of all the changes they've done so far I'm most interested in what they have planned for Rhaena. Is she taking over Nettles?

I can't believe the finale is next week. We better get S3 next year not another 2 year wait situation that was nonsense.

Rhaenyra's team is so dumb omg they had the perfect opportunity to ambush Aemond and vHAGar like :rip:

Great episode!  The taming of the dragonseeds was a spectacular sequence!  Some of those shots of Vermithor were some of the most stunning shots across the entire series :flame:

Oscar gagging Daemon.  Jace dragging the peasants to the pits of hell  Sorry but when you're that pretty you're allowed to be a snob :celestial3:

This. Why not jump Aemond right then and there? They had the numerical advantage and the shock value, cause Aemond would not have expected to be ambushed by multiple adult dragons at once. If he and Vhagar are out, the Greens automatically lose. Now he knows and Team Black lost their one big chance to win… cause they wanted to stare at him instead.

This was an AMAZING episode, might be my fav of the season (expecting to watch the finale).

Daemon's plot was GOOD and finally interesting. I agree with some of you that we needed to see him develop through the season, but in past episodes the scenes were kinda meh… This time around was really exciting, from the Tully boy gagging his ass off, the side eyes with Simon Strong (when he said 'oh dear' i almost lost it lmfaooo this diva!) and his vision of Viserys.

Oh when I saw that goat I was like whewww now we have Satan in its Black Philip costume too in the house!

The dragonseeds claiming the dragons… wow. Peak fantasy tv. Vermithor what A BEAST you are. The scene of Rhaenyra calming and commanding him… I know Mysaria's legs were WEAK.

Silverwing looks absolutely STUNNING :WAP: great design and color.

Jace, SEETHE. I like you but come on now… You're still son of a Targaryen queen, silver hair or not. The succession was disputed the moment you were born anyway, who cares about some random dragon riders.

Alicent became USELESS.

The final shot gave Daenerys speech shot after calcinating the **** out of King's Landing :jonny5:

Yeah, like bitchh, hide the other 3 dragons behind the castle or something, and let him get near while he was chasing Silverwing...

Why was Vermithor red in the final scene? Thought Meleys was back for a sec

Vermithor's deep orange/bronze hence the name "The Bronze Fury"

The ambush wasn't an option for Rhaenyra because like she mentioned a few times this episode, she wants to avoid bloodshed (as much as she can) and she thinks by having a larger fleet of dragons is going to somehow make the Greens give up the throne :rip:

Am I blind or was someone other than Rhaenyra riding Syrax in that last shot? I definitely saw someone in that seat

Well she's naive af. :gaycat6:

Vhagar is on death's doorstep anyway and no one would cry for Aemond either. She had the perfect set up to end the war with as little bloodshed as possible.

Um no… especially when her only line in episode one is literally "I want Aemond Targaryen"

Shes just a stupid *****. And Aemond would know better than to get too close to Dragonstone. She should have lured him elsewhere.

Oh **** Helaena looks so beautiful in the season finale preview.

Daemon getting crunched by a teenager whose balls only just dropped, that was a great scene and finally Daemon's time in Harrenhal was worth watching. I've always loved even the slow episodes on GoT so I have no problem with scenes focusing on glacial character development rather than internet-breaking shockers (though I will forever want Lady Stoneheart adapted to the screen in the GoT universe), but the Daemon scenes in Harrenhal were just not going anywhere. For instance he clearly distrusts Alys but drinks her potion anyway, he asks for her council out of nowhere. All things very unlike him and the dreams/hallucinations scenes just didn't succeed for me in showcasing some kind of development of his character.

The dreamed sex scene with his mother too...80% of his scenes at Harrenhal felt pointless and did nothing to expand on his character/suggest any sort of change of heart in my opinion. Jace's scene in this episode on the subject of succession for example was a great example of classic GoT slow build-up and expanding on a character, while simultaneously making him look like a more grey, complex character seeing as the whole dragonseeds plot was his idea in the show.

Sonoya Mizuno is doing a great job this season. Emma D'Arcy ate ate ate in this episode, Rhaenyra at last felt like a leader in the moments before Vermithor's lunch.

Silverwing was just dying to get out of there I love the contrast between her having a more playful 'there must be more than this provincial life' personality vs Vermithor being a blow-hard alpha really playing up how hard he is to get.

Alicent auditioning for a Midsommar cameo, yeah I'm not sure what is happening with her character here.

I have to say I absolutely love the way Matthew Needham speaks, I enjoy all Larys scenes simply because of how he reads the lines.
