I just checked and you’re right, most of the bad reviews are people explicitly calling it woke.  I thought House of the Dragon was supposed to the the “non-woke” alternative to Rings of Power. Now House of the Dragon is too woke too?

Before I started watching this I spark notes the Dance of the dragons  (I mean we already know the outcome of the events thanks to GoT). In doing so I still find that I enjoy the show but I  am not as anxious about what is to come.

No dragon has been made an integral part of the story yet besides Vhagar for being the biggest. The rest are just known to be XXX's dragon.

George plz. I'm so done with this maldito diablo. I don't know WHAT happened around 2019/2020ish (besides COVID, of course). He was set to go to a Con in New Zealand in Summer 2020, and he was SO confident that he'd have The Winds of Winter by then, that if he didn't, they could put him under citizen's arrest until he finished the books. It's been 3 years since you made that statement, sweaty. WHAT happened? I suspect that the show and D&D's butchering of his story has something to do with this...the hubris and audacity that those 2 men had... 

I'm done with his troll ass too, but I think the answer to this is obvious: in May 2019, Dumb+Dumber unveiled their disastrous GOT Finale [Subverted Expectations Version] and it was so universally panned that George threw out hundreds of pages of work so that he doesn't suffer the same vitriol in 2045 when Dream of Spring is finally released.

 

And tbh, I would rather wait an eternity for a new and improved version than read an ending that even remotely resembles GOT S8

What a fantastic season this was. My favourite performances were from Emma, Olivia, Milly & of course the masterclass from Paddy.

But overall all the actors killed it

I don't think I've watched his videos.  I stick with David Lightbringer, Grey Matter and Alt Shift X.

What an incredible first season. I think it’s on par with Game of Thrones season 1. If it wasn’t for the major time jumps and constant re-casts this would seem more seamless and coherent and I would therefore rank it higher than Thrones. The technical aspects were Emmy worthy, cinematography is a highlight here just as it was on Game of Thrones, as is the Production Design. 
 

The main actors were all incredible and awards- worthy. Emma D’Arcy is my favourite!

 

Now THAT finale was jaw dropping. From the birth scene all the way to Luke’s demise, I was constantly engaged. Rhaenyra is obviously made to be the protagonist (at least thus far) and you can see that most viewers are on team Black, me included. I can’t believe we have to wait 2 whole years for the next season

 

I can’t wait to see new characters and new locations next season and to just watch how the story unfolds on screen.
