It was Vermithor, Jahaerys’ dragon. He was singing to it saying it will find a rider soon enough. I’m not sure the purpose of the scene, but people have speculated that it’s to show how Daemon is the only Targaryen truly connected to ancient traditions from Valyria and upholding them

what purpose would showing their eyes merging(?) serve other than to show him bonding with it though?

Can we PLEASE start thread banning people not using spoilers while posting details of an illegally LEAKED episode.

Some people aren't even trying.

Why the **** are people discussing the episode that hasn't officially been released without spoiler tags :biblio:

I expected more for the finale tbh, ep 9 felt more like a finale but this is a great set up for the war

Not me entering this thread expecting people anticipating the episode and to find mostly people have already watched it.

I like the slight pivot from the book. By making the death of lucerys seem unintentional.

As for Season 2

Next season is going to feel like the war of the five kings, just like in GOT. It's all out war after this season finale.

All of the major houses will be involved with the exception of The Tyrells (they were neutral in the books) and the the starks will play a major role.

However we won't probably see it until season 3-4.

They destroyed Arya's character tbh :foxaylove3:

yup starting with the many-faced shenanigans

Rumors are floating around the reason why you don't see Alicent's youngest son Daeron is because...

He doesn't look like the rest of her children. Instead of looking Targareyen, he looks more like her. That is why she made a comment about Rhaenerya flaunting her bastard children.

However, this is just a rumor and we won't know this officially until casting news or the new season begins.

I loved the episode but like everyone else said it didn’t really feel like a finale. But I was entertained the whole time. It seems they spent an entire season setting up whatever is supposed to happen next and that is very risky as a screenwriter. They are asking a lot from casual fans who are needed for the show to be successful.

But she had no choice but to escape Westeros and the training she received from them is how she was able to do what she did.
The same cant be said about everyone but Arya’s character was one of the most realized.

By the way, we now have Arya joining Daenerys and Tywin as actors that have trashed the show. Is anyone keeping track? This is funny to me.

Most realized is probably Sansa.

I don’t have a problem with her escaping Westeros or even training with the no ones, but the direction they took from there seemed pointless by the end - she could’ve trained with anyone to become an assassin, and all the buildup about having to become no one then throwing it all out the window by letting her go without any explanations seemed like a cop-out to advance the storyline of her taking vengeance for a living (which I admit is the part i have the most problem with bc it is the complete opposite of her book character’s headed direction and the lesson her character will learn). The most useless parts of season 5 and 6 seemed like Arya’s.

Though I do think Arya learned the lesson her book counterpart will soon learn (aka uncontrolled violence/vengeance = bad) during the sacking of KL by Danny, which is probably why she decided to explore the world instead (and presumably giving up revenge/assassination), but Dumb & dumber’s rushed writing didn’t convey that at all, ppl just assumed she’s gonna be Christopher Columbusing the new world since in their minds she’s still a violent person/assassin. So yeah, i wouldn’t says she’s the most realized.

good final ep. idk why people expect the finale ep to be the biggest, most dramatic one... its almost always the penultimate.

Yes, and it’s kind of funny that Young Alicent was the worst.

Don't know where to post but I noticed a cool connection that Ramin did in the Game of Thrones soundtrack in Season 2 and Season 7. The soundtrack is truly the secret ingredient behind the show.

The motif appears at 2:22 in the House of the Undying theme when Daenerys sees Drogo and Rhaego. The notable show version of the quote being "Until the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. Until the rivers run dry, and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves..."

The same motif reappears in Against All Odds at 6:40, the moment when Viserion dies and Daenerys watches him sink beneath the icy water.

I just can't that Olivia, who is only 28, is supposed to be a grandmother of two and the actors playing her kids are only like 2 or 3 years younger than her.

Kudos to her, because she sells the fact that her old ass kids are much younger than her. I can see why casting stuck with her even though she is so young.

I will say that I think the entire cast has been great though. For me, King Viserys was a big standout as well. Honestly the weakest one might be the young Alicent. :eli:

I think the weakest actor in the show was young Leanor honestly.

The Aemond actor always felt so familiar. Finally realized he is also Osferth in the Last Kingdom.

Also, Heleana's actress is Ælfwynn in The Last Kingdom.
