The fact that the Council was already plotting to put Aegon on the throne without even consulting Alicent lmao, no one cares about her and her opinions, it's so sad, she's been Otto's puppet all her life. She should've started an affair with Crispin, these two losers were made for each other. Maybe she would've been less miserable and wouldn't have had that permanent constipated look on her face.

Lmao the little nitpicking in here is ridiculous :deadbanana2: The HoD has been serving 10/10 from episode 1 to present and next week looks to be even better.

Make sure not to rewatch GoT. Joffrey tells Maergary the fate of a character as well when recalling history. I was pissed :skull:

Because she never had any power or agency of her own, she thinks she is controlling it but all her actions are in service to the men around her. Rhaenys literally tells her that. The only reason she even gets favors from Larys is because she lets him sexually satisfy himself to her feet. :dies: Alicent thinks will be able to control Aegon now that he is King but she was never able to stop him from being a rapist and a drunk.

She thinks she has the power to say if the coup will go forwards or not but the truth is Otto and the small council have been planning it for years. It doesn't matter what she heard Viserys say or not, they would have done it anyways.

Agreed

Isn’t this the same lady who said the peasants don’t matter in Westeros?

Plus nobody cares about them here either (given the praise for the #girlboss move)… if we call Aegon a rapist we have to call Rhaenys a mass murderer.

Anyways Aegon is a Targaryen, half god no? A prince of the 7 kingdoms, now king of the 7 kingdoms. Robert, Reaghar, Roose… king, prince, lord…  they all raped and had bastards everywhere.

Olivia says they start filming S2 in march/april. 10 months of filming + 6 months of post productions. Don't expect Season 2 until may-june 2024 :gaycat6:

Targaryens aren't gods. No one is entirely sure why their blood allows them to bond with dragons or even if it does; in theory, they have dragons because they were the only dragon lords to survive the Doom and haven't let anyone else near their dragons unless its the Velaryons who married into the family. They peddled the idea of exceptionalism to justify their incest and it was quickly debunked

when one of Jaehaerys's daughters died of a sickness that was killing everyone else.

As for Rhaenys, I'm not really up in arms over what she did from a plot standpoint. The lords of Westeros have very little regard for commoners and constantly show it, although it does kinda fall on the writers and showrunners that they didn't even take a moment to reflect the horror of what she had just done. Plotwise, I took it as her dealing a massive public relations blow to Aegon and Alicent by letting all of King's Landing know it was not a peaceful transition of power. The Hightowers were trying to quickly crown him to prove his legitimacy as king over Rhaenyra and Rhaenys kinda blew that plan up literally and figuratively.

So yeah, Rhaenys is a badass but she's just as morally grey as the rest of them are. Targaryens are literal dictators who believe themselves the superior race over everyone else.

Team Green all the way :alexz2:

Rhaenyra snore and her brood of bastards and incest babies can choke. We all know she's only liked because she's Daenerys/ Arya coded and and is the "Yas Queen/ Feminism1!11!!11" crowd wet dream. A worst marry sue than Jon Snore :deadbanana4:.

I wonder which ep Alinnocent is going to submit for the Emmys. This one was strong for her (especially the last scene) but I still think her "Driftmark" performance was the best performance of the series.

this ep was like winds of winter part 2 :deadbanana4: so many similarities.

I liked it tho and even tho im not team green i honestly find myself feeling kinda bad for alicent a lot. she's almost always been surrounded by awful people.

I agree that Alicent as a person seems likeable but as long as she’s attached to Otto and Criston, she’s on the losing side. That being said, someone on here said Rhaenyra is more like a Stannis than a Daenerys so I’m curious to see if we will see that version on TV.

Also, Emma and Olivia have a viral sound bite going around on TikTok where Olivia is asking Emma about her drink of choice. “Ooh stunning!” Viral Queens.

The dragon ex machina ending was enjoyable but overall this 9th episode was a snooze fest. I dont care about where is Aegon and let alone about who finds him first. I dont even understand why there were two teams both green fighting over that. Rhaenyra's fate will be settled later anyway since she seemed to have travelled overnight (how is that possible without her dragons?).

Rhaenyra a Mary Sue?

I don’t understand how the GP lashes one side but praises the other for basically being the same in this war. It is war. Both sides commit very heinous actions and war crimes. The Blacks are not heroes and are not holy, innocent people and neither are the Greens but somehow the GP justifies the Blacks’ actions while crucifying the Greens for the same thing.

Too Much Volume? The Tech Behind ‘Mandalorian’ and ‘House of the Dragon’ Faces Growing Pains

Still, as many stakeholders tout the promise of these virtual production stages, others worry that there are too many in the market right now — especially when demand for traditional soundstages is rising. “It was a big learning curve, and I think it worked really well for some moments and less well for others,” HBO’s House of the Dragon director Clare Kilner says. “It’s especially good for never-ending sunrises and sunsets, for example.” Yet the virtual production stage at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London, which opened in 2021 and was used for Dragon, is already shutting down, The Hollywood Reporter has learned

“Due to the high demand for studio production space, the virtual stage at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden will revert to a traditional soundstage in order to provide more flexibility to our clients,” a Warners rep says. “Productions will still have the option to bring in virtual production technology as and when required.”

A lot of people lack critical thinking skills / are looking for something to be mad at. Literally everything in the episode has made sense. :deadbanana:

And not people so badly wanting this to be a clear cut good vs bad kind of show just to make sure they "stan" the right person :deadbanana:

Everything has to be explained :deadbanana: has to be black and white :deadbanana: so and so character has to be truly altruistic!!! :deadbanana: Etc.

ALL of these characters are gray and people forget that trying to find someone to stan and align themselves with. Even I know the characters I love are not characters I would actually in anyway like irl but this is a fantasy show like cmon now. I blame social media because the discussion around this show, as evident in this thread, is terrible.

each episode takes like a month. The fight scene between Alicent & Rhaenyra in Driftmark took 3 days... you can imagine :gaycat6:
