We need to ban "Serving S7 and 8" and "fan service" from this fandom because y'all are using them to describe the most ridiculous things possible.

That Rhaenys scene was totally fine and was believable in every way.

I wonder how are y'all gonna react when Rhaenyra sends her teenage children ALONE to suicide missions without a guard of some sort to keep an eye on them. It happened in the book and even though it's a big event, it was Season 7 and 8 level of stupid.

But it was written by George/his team so I guess it'll be ok, lol.

I didn't think the #GirlBoss moment was that bad. Like this is the age of the dragons. You're telling me the Targs weren't using them to their advantage? If there was ever a time for sacrificing innocent civilians for your own gain...it's probably gonna be when you know for a fact they are going to kill your dragon, you, and your entire family if you don't bust out the damn floor...people questioning this choice are not thinking critically.

Period

I wasn't a fan of Mysaria at first, but I liked her now

"I could have killed him as easily as a wasp on Froot - Wikipedia"

I'm really impressed with how layered Alicen't is as a character.
Even now, when taking a more active stance against her father,

she's forced to be powerless and submissive in front of Larys...

Also, in what universe do people have a problem with the ending?

It was perfect. Except maybe Rhaenys was able to sneak away a

little too easily. Could've shown her slip past a distracted guard...

During the part when the brother is escorting Princess Rhaenys, who's house was set on fire? They showed the person walking away but it's too dark to see who it was..

Rhaenys sneaking away and making a grand entrance on her dragon a minute later felt very much Marvel’d. :rip: All that hype just to end in nothing but civilians killed and a heads-up to the Greens that Rhaenys is going to Dragonstone to fill in Rhaenyra. I also felt like the scene could have been executed better from a production standpoint. The long sequence of shots of smoke and rubble flying everywhere and us not seeing a clear image of Rhaenys’s face until like a minute later undercut the impact of the moment for me. If I were directing the ending, I would’ve had it going back and forth between Aegon’s coronation and Larys taking out the spies and then a final shot of Rhaenys getting her dragon and taking off for Dragonstone. (I didn’t even catch that the burning house was the White Worm’s tbh.)

The ending of the episode was nowhere near the cheesy fan service that Arya killing the Night King was, but it’s moments like these that keep the show from hitting the quality of S1-S4 of GoT. I think social media - as well as the fact that the second season isn’t coming for at least two years - is largely responsible for the inclusion of these fan-service, sure-to-go-viral, shock value scenes. I can even admit the scene was entertaining upon first watch, but it’s the kind of thing that will age poorly for rewatches.

Another solid episode, but I do have to say I was slightly underwhelmed after all the hype, and because this is E9.  The big Rhaenys scene at the end was absolutely necessary, the episode would have been a boring flop without it.  And it makes perfect sense for her not to roast the Hightowers.  A) She has a conscience, B) she had that scene earlier in the ep with Alicent where they truly "saw" one another for the first time and C) there was at least one innocent on that dais (Helaena).

The foot scene...... um.... I can't decide if it cheapens or strengthens Larys as a character.  I guess we'll see what they do with it in the future.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see Arryk and Erryk get a bigger role this episode... setting up things to come.

Love Helaena's dream speak coming true.  Beware the beast beneath the boards indeed!

Olivia absolutely devoured this ep.  I love what they've done with her character.  They took great care to show her as a victim/pawn at the beginning, then built her up as a loathsome hag, and now are pulling back to make her a bit more likable.  She's definitely the most complex character on the show so far.

Sonoya NEEDS to fix Mysaria's accent for next season.  That is, no exaggeration, the worst part of the show.

And I hope now that HOTD has proven itself to be a success, they will stick a bit closer to the book.  The foot scene, the Rhaenys scene, and the hunt for Aegon were all invented for the show, and while I didn't dislike any of them and think they all served the plot well (at least the latter two for sure), I don't want them to stray too far from the source material.  We've seen how that goes.....

Excited for the finale!  Can't wait to see Storm's End!

I loved the Rhaenys ending, a bad ***** :jonny5:

Who gives a **** about those dumbass civilians who cheered for Aegon dying :lmao:

Criston and Otto are SO annoying, I’m patiently waiting for their death.

I just really can’t understand how anyone is team green at this point :skull:

Yeah, the blacks have been a bit deceptive in trying to continue their hold on the throne but they haven’t done anything nearly as bad as everything the greens have done…the war is a direct result of the actions of the greens - at least I haven’t seen anything yet to justify rooting for the greens over the blacks anyway.

not some of you wanting a flat ending for an already quiet episode because ThoSe PoOr InNoCeNtS!!! :isudumblmao:

This is fire and blood. You better get used to see both teams killing people like it's nothing

Not all these comments caring about civilians :deadbanana2: there's literally a war brewing

100% team black. Alicunt heard what she wanted to hear from the king and that's why she thinks her child should take the throne :cm:

The ending was a little "fan servicey" but her actions 100% make sense for who her character is so I can't be too mad that she didn't just burn them all. Her getting to her dragon easily also wasn't hard to believe since it looked like all the guards were above in the ceremony anyway :skull:

Wild to think that next week is the finale but I'm ready for some real action :duca:

I really wanted to love it after the screeners hype and sice the tension was great. But at the end it just felt kida messy to me :nicole2: Major daenerys S7-S8 teas from Rhaenys. Kill your smallfolk and instill fear on them and later expect to have their support for the cause you're gonna fight for.

Thank you. Everyone gagging over a rich lady killing a bunch of poor people for no reason, like :skull:

And I noticed Alicent took off her shoes when she went to eat dinner with him a few episodes. NGL that scene really threw me off

Questionable writing or not the Rhaenys scene still has me :jonnycat: the sound, the dramatic entrance, the armor with not a hair out of place skcjchjckak :bibliahh:

I love my war criminal Targaryen queens

Spoiler

I wonder how they will GIRLBOSS Rhaenyra tho. They will definitely invent a storyline for her to have her slay queen moment like this. My guess is the fall of kings landing will be a lot more dramatic and GIRLBOSS’d

Some of you guys are so dumb.

Its like y’all don’t know how “honor” works in these shows. Rhaenys killing half of the Targaryen family with a “dracarys” while they’re all unguarded is not honorable.

Yeah, she could have “ended it there” but it’s like you guys haven’t seen previous… shows ever where warlords talk in person.

Some of y’all are serving “why didn’t his camp just kill the other leader when he came in for negotiations???”

:deadbanana2:

Rhaenys has consistently been honorable the entire show. She wouldn’t just magically become someone to burn a whole family alive :lmao:

“but the peasants!”

The blind peasants who were just cheering for a false king? Y’all act like they were booing him for Rhaenyra and then she killed a few. Royals in these type of shows always view peasants as a different breed. They’re seen as less than. Acting like Rhaenys would cry seeing a peasant die or something :ahh:

Some of y’all just LOOK for reasons to be mad.

I don't get how everyone is just brushing over the fact Alicent gave Larys the go ahead to set Mysaria on fire with that feet show. :rip:
