Lifetime Tolkien fan but couldn't get past the first two episodes. Doesn't feel anything like Middle Earth, just generic fantasy not even up to Willow's standards. This could be overlooked were it not so boring. Instead of paying for the rights to The Silmarillion, which is beyond epic, they chose to make a series about the boring parts of history where nothing actually happens.

Season 2 is off to a really strong start. Currently 92% on RT and certified fresh, which has the whole anti-woke Tolkien fanatic brigade absolutely enraged.
