YoungDreamer Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Quote JESS Glynne has one of America’s biggest stars on board to turn her into a huge star over the pond. I have been told the Hold My Hand singer has signed with Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation in a bid to break the States after scoring seven UK No1s. I revealed in January that Jess had split from Atlantic Records over disagreements about her future sound and, in a complete overhaul of her career, had also ditched her management. She then flew to Los Angeles, where she spent time meeting key players in the industry and is now teaming up with Jay-Z’s hugely successful team. With them guiding her career, it should lead to huge things for her third album. A music insider said: “There is no doubt that Jess is a force to be reckoned with in British music. Her songs have been wildly successful. But there hasn’t been a massive pick-up outside Europe. Now she feels like it is the time to branch out. She wanted to change up her sound and people should expect something different from her when she returns. But given her obvious talents when it comes to singing and songwriting, Roc Nation is confident there are even bigger and better things on the horizon for Jess.” https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/17824209/jess-glynne-roc-nation/

ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted April 20, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted April 20, 2022 I don't think she'll ever top this success
Gabe² Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Bad move for her, she didn’t break into the US when she was smashing in Europe/UK and it won’t happen now. Her focusing on the US and leaving the UK is gonna make her flop in the UK and lose her biggest market. by the time she releases an album, probably next year it’s gonna be too long of a gap and even the UK would be hard to smash on now add the fact she will be focusing in the US and the UK will for sure dump her ass

Jack! Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Won't happen - she's unlikeable and is the only part to blame for her ruining her UK career.
XtinaStripped Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Can she just go away forever though? There’s enough bad songs of hers always on the radio. Nobody needs any more.

Galah Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Hmm, very bold and interesting career move, but feels a little... late? I don't see her having a Jessie J sized crossover and even that wasn't very big, nor lasted very long.

Well, if what The Sun is claiming is true, she signed to Roc Nation’s record label and not their management company. Basically the opposite of what Tinashe did when parting ways with RCA and her longtime manager then signing to the talent management arm of Roc Nation. She’s remained completely independent on the record label side of things since.
