Nadine Coyle teases one-off Girls Aloud reunion in memory of Sarah Harding: "We want to do something to help others"

Cheryl, Nicola, Nadine and Kimberley intend to get back together in aid of raising funds towards much-needed medical equipment for cancer patients.

Nadine Coyle has hinted that Girls Aloud intend to reunite for a one-off performance in memory of Sarah Harding.

It would be the first time that the remaining four founding members of the group - Nadine, Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh - would take to the stage following Sarah's death last year aged just 39, following a battle with breast cancer.

Any proceeds from the reunion would go towards funding for medical equipment to help make cancer diagnoses, so potential patients can be treated earlier.

Speaking to OK Magazine, Nadine confirmed that "[Girls Aloud] are planning a night for an event to raise money in honour of Sarah.

"She’s very much in the forefront of our minds. We want to raise money for a piece of medical equipment that helps diagnose cancer earlier so people can be treated. We definitely want to do something to help others."

Following Sarah's death, sales and streams of Girls Aloud's back catalogue soared in tribute to the fiery band member. Before Sarah's passing, Girls Aloud last performed together on their Ten: Greatest Hits tour, before retiring the band for good.

Girls Aloud are one of the most successful and popular girl-groups to emerge from the UK. Coming up on Pop Stars: The Rivals, they bucked initial skepticism with an endlessly refined and innovative sound, courtesy of production house Xenomania.

In their initial life-span, Girls Aloud had four UK Number 1 singles (Sound of the Underground, I'll Stand By You, Walk This Way and The Promise) and were the first British act to achieve a then record-setting 20 consecutive Top 10 singles.

This will be a great performance but an emotional one. Girls Aloud were a big part of my childhood and I’ll always have fond memories of their music, so seeing them all together without Sarah will be strange but it’s for a good cause and I’m ready to dance, sing and cry. :clap3:
