KLatz Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 The hold this classic had on radio and the Hot 100 back in 2005 was something. Her phoenix like comeback into massive success. Her claiming the decade-end #1 for two decades. The power of Mariah Carey is just legendary! Good spot for this one. She kills the vocals at the end of this. That emotional climax with the high note >>>>

Seffers Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Lose My Breath squeaking into the top 15 - what an iconic MV and song also Britney stomping with two songs still in - legend status!

KillingYourCareer Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Glad this one's out. The nonsensical lyrics really bother me, especially coming from someone who produced several lyrical masterpieces in her previous album.
naval23 Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 (edited) The Furtado-copter is ICONIC Say It Right definitely has nonsensical lyrics but the production/melody is sooo haunting and otherworldly that I forgive it And overall the message to me is someone who has the potential to be the one but it's so early you have no idea but your gut is saying yes but you wanna play it as cautiously optimistic Goodbye to this 2000s legend! I like Bye Bye too but It sends me how they projected it to be her next Hot 100 #1 after "Touch My Body" and called it "We Belong Together 2.0" but it underperformed hard
Never Ending Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Say It Right OUT In a way I understand the hype/love for it, and I do enjoy it sometimes myself, but I feel like ever since hearing it for the first time and seeing it simultaneously with the video, I didn't fall in love with it, and I think it was mainly because of Timbaland's annoying face in the video Like... he just doesn't look good there, and that lowkey soured the song for me Hm.
rihannabiggestfan Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Say It Right's lyrics are so profound that they seem nonsensical
KLatz Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Say It Right is the definition of timeless! Timbaland and Nelly were really in their bag Lowkey pressed at it because it snuffed Maneater's run in the US and stunted it classic-ness to the US GP, but that's what happens when you have too many smashes waiting to be released. Only Nelly
naval23 Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 Her AMA 2006 performance of this is sooo amazing (to think it's the same day as PCD's iconic "Buttons" messy performance)
ninasayers Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Say It Right is one of the best songs of all time, really. The lyrics are amazing too, she has the mind of a mastermind.

Only Nelly OMG I will never forgive her label for killing "Maneater" when it was already top 10 on sales to make room for "SAy It Right" - they were lowkey right it was a Winter smash but still

KillingYourCareer Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Complicated is definitely one of my favorite songs EVER. Opening track from my first ever CD, a compilation called New Divas 2. AMAZING mem'ries related to my vacations in the Alps as a kid. It's just perfect.
State of Grace. Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Complicated almost Top 5 is such a scream. I love nostalgia.
Never Ending Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 NOOOOOOO Not this masterpiece Literally its lowest scores are a 4.5 and two 5's! I can't believe it didn't make top 5 I still can't believe Can't Get You Out of My Head is still in
