Love Story wins this by a country mile :bird:

 

Taylor’s lead singles have almost never been the best tracks she has to offer. Mine and Love Story are the only ones that are truly great, while Tim McGraw, WANEGBT, Willow, and Cardigan are all good. The pop album leads can all rot.

 

As for videos, I’ll throw pop Taylor a bone and vote LWYMMD.

It depends though

 

First single which works the best :

Shake It Off, the most successful one and totally changed her image to a popstar

On the other hand, LWYMMD succeeds to gather all the attention like never before, especially after the controversies she faced before

 

First single which sounds the best :

Cardigan has very wonderful lyric and bridge

But I feel like willow is the perfect balance between catchy melody, good lyric, great production, and wonderful music video

cardigan will always be her greatest lead single. That bridge + outro are unmatched. I really hope we can get another single with this kind of high quality.

i love mine and love story but cardigan is an absolute godsend of a song, so relatable in both positive and negative. i love bittersweet songs like that

 

lwymmd def best vid. i also like the song a bit as well. its not type of song i usually listen to but its not a skip if it come on for me. i also love the mine vid. it was one of my fav singles by her growing up like top 3, so i have a lot of nostalgia for that song. its super cute as well
