Blade Runner Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 I'm so nervous for Paul Mescal. My man needs to be here, but it looks kinda impossible. Such a hard category to predict.

Both "experimental", bombastic, weird as hell songs. Not just generic radio fodder. Things like Earned It or Can't Stop the Feeling (and I Ain't Worried to an extension) are rare here. They always go for safe ballads and stuff. Edited January 22, 2023 by Blade Runner
wesleywalrus Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Film Twitter's obsession with Mescal getting in is WEIRD. Giving Reinsve teas.
kgeezy310 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I honestly think that Paul Mescal will get in...Tom Cruise personally has weird PR and I don't see them giving him an individual nomination, his reward will be his producing nomination in Best Picture. Had he gotten a SAG nomination, I would've thought maybe Cruise had a chance to get in. I think the last spot in Best Actor is between Paul Mescal, Jeremy Pope or Felix Kammerer. I wouldn't be surprised if Kammerer got in since AQOTWF is rising at the right time.
DoubleRainbow! Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Was expecting Mia Goth to be nominated for Best Leading Actress but she’s been snubbed everywhere

Gui Blackout Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Paul should've been a lock to win, let alone a nod. The fact that might not get in for Xenu's bestie is so ******* gross.

Dark Phoenix Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I need Aftersun to be ignored along with Glass Onion, but where so annoying and film twitter has been for months trying to push both to happen. Also Top Gun will go ignored. I’d like to see some surprises tomorrow, whatever they should nom Ana for Blonde and ruffle some feathers. The campaign will be fun!

Mr. Duff Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I hope the international voters push Mescal in. I have 50/50 hope, but getting in BAFTA is likely not enough. If only he got in SAG... I just watched Triangle of Sadness. First half is super boring but Dolly really deserves the nom huh.
