Godly Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 The way for all the vitriol and pushback the movie received Ana would've still probably WON this in most other years, last 3 included. It would've made for an entertaining season full of meltdowns, but Cate and Michelle are too strong

DONTYELLATME Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 White Michelle getting rightfully snubbed for that embarrassing performance
Donquizote Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Williams will get snubbed for the role she played before
Green Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Vanessa Hudgens liked Austin Butler (and Gaga) shade
Kylizzle Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Why are people who don't actually follow the race acting like JLC is snubbing Hsu everywhere when they've been doing about the same everywhere

DONTYELLATME Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Top Gun is well made generic action trash while All Quiet is talent
Donquizote Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Still hoping for RISEborough to be WTF nominee next week
hausofdave Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 All Quiet reeks of foreign payola, sad no other int could break out following Parasite, Minari, & even Drive My Car
Bad Wolf Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 I'm pretty sure it's been like 60+ years (or more) since we've had more than one nominee from the same film in multiple categories. Meaning, statistically speaking, I think it's hard for these nominations to happen.. not saying it's impossible! Stats are meant to be broken, and I could see this being a year where Banshees and EEAAO could pull it off. Supporting Actress - Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu Supporting Actor - Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan -- or -- Paul Dano, Judd Hirsch That being said, I would expect only one of these instances to happen within a given category. It probably won't happen in both.
hausofdave Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 Supporting Actress is more stacked than Actor, I only have Curtis getting in
Dark Miracles Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Um he is serving Jupiter Ascending here and it should not be up for awards
Alyssa Edwards Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Best Supporting Actress is eh for me. For multiple reasons - Angela Bassett : NOT watching that movie. - Stephanie Hsu : Good performance, it's just not moving me. - Kerry Condon : Stunning film, basic performance, not Oscar worthy at all. - Hong Chau : Haven't seen the film yet - Jamie Lee Curtis : Ridiculous. Very likely to get in and the exact reason why this category is weak this year. - Carey Mulligan : Weak. Dolly De Leon is the one. Until I see The Whale to officially confirm, she's the winner for me. I hope she's getting it, she's refreshing and she deserves it.
Alyssa Edwards Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Also we all know the REAL snub of the year is going to be Mark Rylance in Bones And All.

wesleywalrus Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Hsu is not happening film Twitter is so annoying

CaptainMusic Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) Angela deserves the Oscar and if you remove the Marvel factor it’s actually a baity performance. Playing a Queen - Check Doing an accent - Check Grieving mother - Check Emotional monologue - Check If this was a historical movie then there wouldn’t be any debate about her sweeping 9 minutes ago, Mr. Loco said: She was really good, but no better than previous MCU acting like Elizabeth Olsen or Hugh Jackman Please Edited January 20, 2023 by CaptainMusic

McNulty Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Best Director category is actually gonna be messy, I'm expecting BIG misses
