CaptainMusic Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Williams being snubbed by SAG and now BAFTA She should’ve stayed supporting.
Riot Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Everyone say thank you Michelle for sabotaging herself
Blade Runner Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Sad that Cate is probably taking this too. Such an overrated perfomance. I don't see a path for Dr. Yeoh.
fridayteenage Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 wow, the acting nominees (sans s actor a little) feel pretty much like copy+paste frontrunners, plus an extra name. I guess Bafta didn't wanna be dragged like last year for 0% actress overlap: Joanna Scanlan Lady Gaga Alana Haim Emilia Jones Renate Reinsve Tessa Thompson but a little boring
MAXIMO Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 The BAFTA nomination committees got Oscar friendly after only two years.
TheDreamer Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 White Michelle really sabotaged herself, the way she had the supporting Oscar on lock when the movie premiered and now she might not even be nominated at all! Also rise Dolly!!! Mother

Fabelmans is a boring ego trip, but the Academy will probably like it more so Michelle W will likely take her spot. Same with Top Gun. The Oscars are gonna be more generous. Sad about Hsu tho. She's having a rough season. Michelle W needs to be getting #1 votes from passionate voters to be making it in, and I don't think she's clearing -- not to mention it doesn't feel like a true lead performance
Green Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Michelle Williams snubbed by BAFTA too It's not looking good Well Ana De Armas is happening for sure now

hausofdave Posted January 19, 2023 Author Posted January 19, 2023 Angela Bassett for Black Panther Wakanda Forever… but nothing else. Not even costume, def a jury save

Not even costume, def a jury save Angela Bassett not being nominated at the BAFTAs wouldn't have made that much of a difference imho, in fact I don't think that she's winning it at all She will clearly have to rely on American votes for the Oscars
State of Grace. Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Renate, Gaga, Tessa, and Joanna #deserved
wehan6 Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 there's no way ana is missing. the fact that she got in everywhere for an universally panned film says it all really if someone is gonna get snubbed for white michelle it's most likely gonna be danielle but i don't see that happening
Green Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 And wow at the BAFTAs going from 0/5 for the Oscar Best Actress nominees last year to possible 5/6 of the nominees this year. They didn't want to be clowned again

hausofdave Posted January 19, 2023 Author Posted January 19, 2023 Women Talking completely shut out, ouch.. and to think beginning of awards season this was a Top 3/5 BP contender

fridayteenage Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 what if...we're like "oh they're just supporting their british queen" but then the brits rally behind emma thompson in the end (for the nom)?
